Are you staying young?

imagesWe all want to live as long as we can without
suffering and to have our body, mind and spirit in
good condition for as long as possible.

Why do some of us crumble under pressure and have
sickness and old age creep up while others live to
a ripe old age? Is it fate, luck or do you believe
when your time is up you’re gone?

I have spent decades exploring the Eastern systems
of longevity, diet, exercise and meditation and
now at last there are scientific advances from the
Western systems of health that may bring the two
systems together.

To extend your life and improve its quality there
are a host of things you can start today, even if
you have been sick you can redirect your health
and longevity picture. What you are doing now is
what counts; the good news is you can positively
affect your health and longevity, if you are
ready.

We all have genes that are affected by our
lifestyle and the environment we live in. If you
have been spending your days working in a factory
filled with toxic chemicals and you are a
worrywart, still smoking cigarettes and filling
your gut with beer, sodas and fast foods, the
chances of you breaking down quicker is very good.

A man ninety years old was asked to what he
attributed his longevity.
I reckon, he said with a twinkle in his eye, it’s
because most nights I went to bed and slept when I
should have sat up and worried.
-Garson Kanin

Unfortunately we don’t make it easy for longevity
in the West. Our older population is pushed to
the side and so are the sick and handicapped. Our
society is all about constant stimulation and
selling product with no regard for the long-term
effect.

The Eastern traditions are more about prevention
and wellness and staying in balance. Acupuncture,
herbs, diet, Qi Gong, yoga and meditation have
been around for thousand of years and the focus is
longevity, health and the quality of life.
Here are some of the things that you can start
today to insure your long life and keep you
healthy.

• Cut down on your calorie intake- Much
research has shown that reduced calorie intake can
increase health and longevity.

• Eat 80% vegetables, fruits, nuts and seeds.
More or less eat a semi-vegetarian diet 20%
protein

• Practice meditation –It will calm your
spirit and having a relaxed spirit is one of the
secrets of longevity.

• Less weight- more life: drop some weight
and your energy will increase

• Practice Abdominal breathing daily –it will
keep you centered, build inner strength and give
you a sense of stability.

I have been practicing Qi Gong and meditation for
years and I can tell you without a doubt you can
reverse the aging practice, you just have to start
practicing.

I wish you the best in your Health, Wealth and
Happiness

The Secrets to Longevity

Last Thursday I was at a client’s office and we
were going over some of the treatments and
exercises that I do to stay younger than my peers
as well as my secrets to avoid taking medicines
that have negative side effects. She asked me
about diet, exercise, meditation, stress reduction
and improving sexual vitality and just about
everything else that has to do with the anti-aging
practices.

We were really enjoying each other’s company and
the conversation, that’s when she asked if she
could ask a personal question about her own
health. As a doctor I am used to a lot of
questions and if I can be of help I will surely
give my professional advice.

She told me that she had just returned from Mexico
City and she had dinner at a new restaurant and
since then has had a stomachache, bloating and
excessive gas.

I told her I would be willing to take a look at
her and that’s where I went wrong.
When I am working in my office I always go through
a ritual to keep myself protected from absorbing
both pathogens and energetic disturbances. I do
this almost instinctively before seeing anyone and
it protects me and helps the patient to recover
quicker.

As I was at her office I just forgot to protect
myself. Sure as the sun will rise tomorrow, I
picked up her stomach pain, it didn’t last for
long but definitely intense. images

When I wrote the book Turn Stress into Power

I included the protections to keep clear from
picking up all that junk.

protected.

Creating Your Own Power Animals

Friday, July 6th, 2012

The Chinese Taoist’s have
formulas for just about everything,
diet, exercise, meditations, and how
to live your life better.
One of the very special formulas
that are taught uses the power of
visualization and involves 4 animals used as protectors.

1. The dragon
2. The Phoenix sometimes called a Firebird
3. A white Tiger
4. Turtle

Each animal represents
a direction, a color, and the human
organ and does a special job that
carries out a special protective quality.

Although this may sound like a child’s
play, to the westerner these teachings go
back thousand of years and have significant value.
Mythology and creative visualization is
now being used in modern medicine and
psychiatric care. One of my friends is a psychiatrist
in Kentucky and is in his private life is a Mayan Shaman.
One may think that is unusual but another Medical
doctor that I know right here in Florida is a practicing
Shaman from another tradition.

When they aren’t practicing medicine they are
involved in high leave shaman practices and rituals.
A doctor is a teacher — or should be one, in order to
teach his patients ways to heal themselves on a physical,
mental and spiritual leave. We are all three bodies
operating as one and in order to be healthy all three
bodies must function in harmony.

This morning I was training with one of
my students and we saw someone walking their dog.
The dog was a bulldog and I pointed out that one
of my protectors was a bulldog.
The student said how could that be?
“I thought you said that there where only
four protectors and there wasn’t any mention of a dog.”

Our protectors can change and morph
into other beings and creatures.
My dragon protector who lives on my left
side represents a few things.
My liver for one, the emotions of anger
and kindness, the color green, getting things
started and completed quickly.

Over the years my dragon has changed shapes,
has a name and the relationship is stronger.
Why? Because I have placed more attention into
the visualization and have worked with the
protector in my meditations.
Remember, the more you work with
something the stronger it becomes.

Here’s how the morphing happened to my dragon.
One of my friends had a 150-pound dog that
was a great protector. But he was overprotective
and would go crazy if anyone came into the house
that he didn’t know and if you took him for a walk
and he saw another dog he would try to rip him apart.
His master had no idea how to train a dog or anything
else for that matter. His form of training was only to
control and try to dominate. Dogs are intuitive in nature
and they pick up on vibrations and intensions of other
animals and people as well. So the dog became just like
his master, overly aggressive and tried to control
everything and everyone.
Not a good way to live ones life,
if you want to stay around for a while.

I had a great relationship with the dog since it was a pup.
I played with it and the dog picked up on my vibes.
One day the master and the dog had it out — the
dog bit him and the dog was scheduled to be put down
the next day. When they told me what was going to happen,
I asked if I could take him for a walk.
The family agreed and I told the pooch that
he would always be with me as one of my
protectors and not to worry.

To this day the dog has been with me.
He morphed into a dragon dog.
This may sound a little strange to you but if you
have a favorite pet, or a creature that you have
infinity with, you can incorporate it into your
personal mythology as I did.

You may want to learn more about your
own mythology, how to use visualization and
learn to work with the protectors.

There is Always More than You Can See

Thursday, July 5th, 2012

Last week when I was talking
to a group of young students
about healing they all had their
opinion on what healing was
and how to do it.

One claimed it wasn’t to be done
by men and should be left up to the
creator and the second student
disagreed and said only doctors
should do healing, the third said
healing should be done by Spirit alone,
and the fourth said there was really no
healing at all, you either get better on
your own or you die, the fifth student
had no opinion at all.

I stopped the discussion and told
them a story that I heard from
(the Lama on the mountain) years ago.

It was six men who went to see an
Elephant
 for the first time.
All of them were blind.

The First blind man happened to
fall
against the broad and muscular
side of the elephant, at once he
began to shout:

”the Elephant
Is very like a wall!”

The Second blind man, feeling the tusk,
cried out “no you are wrong, the
Elephant
Is very like a spear,
sharp and pointed at one end!”

The Third blind man approached
the animal; felt the trunk
and said,
“I don’t agree, the elephant
Is
like a huge snake!”

The Fourth blind man reached out and
felt the leg and claimed

”the Elephant Is very like a tree!”

The Fifth blind man touched the ear
of the elephant and said,
“you are all wrong the Elephant

Is very like a huge leaf!”

The Sixth blind man grabbed the
tail and said,
“the Elephant
Is very like a rope!”

These 6 blind men argued
and
disputed loud and long, each
having their own opinion
and claiming that
they were right, although each of them were
somewhat right, all of them were wrong!

The moral of the story:
There is always more to the
Elephant
then you can see!

When it comes to your health
you can’t isolate just one thing.

It takes everything to stay healthy!
Diet, exercise, internal peace,
right thinking,your moral code,
proper nutrition, love and
respect of self and others.

When we only focus on one or
two aspects of your health, like
the blind men you are not getting
the full picture.
You may be treating the
symptom but not the cause.
“There is always more to the
elephant than you can see.”

That’s why we all need a coach
to show us the big picture!

what you have been waiting for.

Tired of the BS about Health?

Our medical system is one
of the best in the world when
it comes to critical care.
If you get shot, stabbed or have
a bone crushing accident –
they can but you back together.

But if you get sick, watch out!
Our medical system has a long
way to go in treating disease and
preventive medicine, it is just
about non-existent.
Most chronic and degenerative
illnesses have reached critical
numbers with no cure in site.

Our lack of the right exercise,
poor nutrition, stressed life styles
and poor lifestyle choices are often
at the root of these conditions.

The medical community and
institutional funding focus largely on
surgical and drug-based interventions
and the problems just seem to grow
larger every day.

What can you do if you get sick or
want to prevent getting sick?
The traditional system doesn’t give us
much of a choice.

But don’t worry, there are plenty of
options to take the bull of the medical
community by the horns and get rid of
the bull once and for all.

I am not saying that medicine has
nothing to offer, they have made great
advancements over the years and
every day you hear more and more
of traditional doctors finally looking
into diet, exercise and a less invasive
way of treating.

Personally, I think the entire system
is broken and it’s damn hard to fix
something that is just broken.

If you want to take more
responsibility for your health,
stay young, vibrant, and develop
a strong immune system, you can!
My office has the state-of-the-art
tools for comprehensively evaluating
personal health influences and
delivering authentic solutions in
consumer-friendly fashion.
The personal health influences
we assess shows how the
biomarkers of work, stress, sleep,
dietary and other lifestyle habits
affect your over all health.

Once the information is analyzed
with the most current research
findings and advanced clinical
insights, a program will be
designed for you. That includes
diet, exercise, natural supplication
as well as goal setting and life
style reprogramming.

The result is a highly efficient and
cost effective method of bringing
the healthcare consumer and their
health professional’s attention to
proven health promotion steps.

I am offering a private
coaching program for those of
you who are ready to take
responsibility for your own health.

The Most Important Blood Work

Tuesday, October 18th, 2011
Share

Examinations at a doctor’s office are important to
determine what a persons
health picture is all about, and I do some very
traditional ones as well as more esoteric tests
like Medical Qi Gong,Chakras testing and
Applied kinesiology to determine what
needs to be addressed first.

I’ll use the Chinese pause technique, look at the
tongue, and observe the quality of the skin, nails, hair.
I’ll go over every inch of the body, looking for
clues on how to open the blockage and I ask a
ton of questions to see what’s going on internally.

On the physical level from a scientific stand point
there is no general screening test
that is more efficient, effective and affordable
than a comprehensive blood chemistry panel.
It allows me to quickly assess what’s going
on with your health at a glance.
It is the ultimate tool in biomedical laboratory
sciences to evaluate patients.

Your blood test can be the answer to identifying
imbalances in the body’s metabolism. If you’re
healthy, you should get your blood work done at
least every year. I get mine done every six months
and have the two tests compared to see if there are
any changes for better or worse.

Things like diet, exercise, stress and illness
will show up. If you are going
through a health crisis,
I’d check every three months just
to stay on top of things.
Many health problems can be
prevented and
managed effectively with early
detection.

In general we are not up to date on what’s going on
inside and a blood test will show the function
of the immune system, thyroids and if you
have a tendency for any hidden illnesses it
can be a good way to get an early look.

The longevity system in the USA hardly exists.
We are on a program of:
‘If it isn’t broken, don’t fix’ it and the
insurance companies like it just the way it is.

A decade ago the average annual lab work
ordered in a physical exam included a
Chem-24, CBC with differentials, TSH, and
a lipid panel. However, the healthcare model
today customarily performs a simple chem-7
and lipid panel. The addition of a TSH, a CBC,
or other tests are no longer a routine.
Physicians who order extra tests are
considered unqualified providers.
Who do you think is judging them?
Whoever they are, it’s not about your
health and longevity or the quality of your life.

I understand that many of us have given up on
the current healthcare model and are sick and tired
of being over-medicated. Many of us are now
looking for a more natural approach.
A comprehensive healthcare evaluation
and blood chemistry panel is a good place to
start and get you back on the road to good health.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth and Happiness

Discover The Nutritional Story in your Blood Test and take charge of your own health

Thursday, August 4th, 2011
Share

I was having lunch with Nastia
this afternoon and I asked her,
when was the last
time you had a check up and
your blood work done?

She said, “Noting hurts, I sleep fine,
I have a good appetite and I am
regular with my period, why even
check if I’m feeling good.
Is it necessary to get a check up
when I feel just fine?”

You would be surprised how
many people ask me the same thing.
If it’s not broken why fix it?

This may be true in many situations
but not your health.

Our health has
to be attended to all the time with
diet, exercise, hygiene, vitamins,
minerals and proper attitude.
If it’s not, you are looking for big problems.

You can compare your body to a garden.
The garden needs to be watered, and
weeded, you need to maintain the right
pH balance and get the right amount
of sunlight, if you hope to harvest
anything of value.

In our human system we also need
to check things like blood pressure,
proper Ph balance, blood flow, organ
function, as well as checking out the
alternative stuff. It’s a good idea to
have your acupuncturist take a look
at your internal balance.
Although there are many ways to
check, I have found that the most
accrued and scientific way is
through the blood work.

There are different values to
consider when reading blood work;
most doctors use the standard
clinical range. In my opinion
this is a mistake. It is based on
an average of very sick people,
very healthy people, and everyone in between.

The Functional Range, is a more
sensible range as it’s going to be
smaller because the calculations
are designed to eliminate the
extremes on both ends of the gamut.

The key point about the Functional Range
is that it can be used to optimize health
by restoring the sub-healthy ranges
before they turn into dis-ease.

In my office we use the state of the
art analyzing software to design a
clinical nutrition plan to optimize
the total health of the patient.

If your doctor is just focused on
the standard clinical range alone,
diseases like diabetes wouldn’t be
detected until the blood sugar is
above the normal level. That could
be too late and the damage on your
organs could already have started;
even if you don’t have any symptoms.
It is always better to be as natural as
possible, no matter if it’s your diet or
treatment. It’s much better to treat
naturally and assist the body in
healing itself by strengthening
the immune system.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth and Happiness
