Getting Tough with Qigong

Today, a student asked me if I knew how to control

pain using Qi Gong. I referred him to a blog that

I sent out a few years ago…

As a kid growing up in Detroit, you learned how to

be tough at an early age. Even if I got in a fight

or got hurt, I learned how to control pain. That

was something I learned early.

How to GET TOUGH!

You may remember those old dentist offices where

they had those old cable drills. Well, that’s what

my dentist had in his old, creepy office, those

old-time cable drills that move really slowly with

a loud, buzzing noise. Dr. Feldman told my mother,

who seemed to believe everything that he said,

that kids didn’t need Novocain or anything else

for pain. He told her, Kids don’t really feel any

pain from the drilling.” So, we never got the

numbing stuff. I learned how to move my internal

energy in my body to avoid pain at an early age

just to survive those early days of torture at the

Dentist. It wasn’t exactly the water board

technique, but with my eyes closed I could imagine it was close.

I still use the technique to avoid pain.

To the amazement of my current dentist, I never take Novocain.

I was working out with a group of students about a

month ago showing some of the advanced techniques

of internal Qi Gong and how to strike not at

things but through things. I got distracted by a

question from a senior student when a newbie

cold cocked me on the right on my jaw. Ouch!

I didn’t give it much attention and re-channeled the

pain and went on with the instructions. A few days

went by and I was feeling some discomfort in my mouth and I went to the dentist to have it checked. It turned

out that I had a broken a tooth and it needed to be

pulled. When I said, “No Novocain” the

Dentist and the assistant turned white. After some

discussion and seeing that it wasn’t going to

happen without me agreeing to let them give me at

least a quarter of a dose, I agreed for there

sake. I then went into a deep meditation and

before I knew it the tooth was out. I did much

better than the doctor and her assistant. In fact,

I gave her a call the next day to check on her anxiety

Level. She was fine but still didn’t

believe that the process didn’t bother me.

Over the last six decades, I have studied and

learned many techniques from the ancient cultures

on how to move, remove, divert, and avoid pain in

many different levels — mentally, physically,

emotionally and locked in spiritual pain. Some of

these systems I have discovered out of necessity;

others are drawn from the Taoist and Tibetan

systems as well as alchemy,Chinese medicine and

the secret teachings of Ayurveda medicine.

These and other internal Qi Gong exercises are

what I teach to the Qi Gong Inner Circle members.

Hatcher Mangos

Hatcher Mangos

Early Saturday morning around 6:30 , I received a distress call from Mairlynn,  the Mango lady.
I usually don’t get a call from her this early in the growing season.
She is the owner of Hatcher Hill Mango Farm. www.hatchermangohill.com.
It’s a small farm about 3+ acres large with more mangoes than I’ve ever seen.
They are all organically grown, not to mention are the biggest and best darn
mangoes I have ever tasted.

I usually visit the 60 year old farm a few times each season to feast on the mangoes.
Those farmers, in general, are really hard workers – picking, packing and shipping
mangoes is a back breaking job.
In fact, that’s how I became friends with the Hatchers.

It was about 14 years ago when I discovered Hatcher Hill Mango farm.
I was driving up to see my parents and I saw the sign, “Organic Mangoes for sale.”
I drove up the dirt road to the farm, when I got the top of the hill,
I couldn’t believe my eyes, there were tables of the largest mangoes I’ve ever seen.
Man this was a real find, “I love mangoes.”

I jumped out of the car and as I was picking out the mangoes that I wanted,
I heard the Mango Lady say. “My back is really sore.” I told her I could fix that and
within seconds,
I was in the farm house in seconds putting acupuncture needles in the mango lady’s
back and doing Medical Qi Gong.  We’ve been friends ever since.

But, let’s get back to the distress call.
The Mango Lady called and said she could hardly walk, that’s always bad but just
before the mangoes ripen, it’s a really BIG problem.
She said it all hit the fan at the same time and she needed some help.
I got into the “Chi-mobile” and drove up to the farm in Boynton Beach.

It’s true, STRESS can cause more health problems that lifting heavy boxes
of mangoes all day or any physical work.
So, I had a long chat with the Mango Lady about stress
and what it does to people.

Stress is the # 1 killer in the USA – causing more heart problems, cancers,
mental and emotional problems than anything else.

We went over exercises and relaxation techniques together that are in my
“Turn Stress into Power Program.”
We worked for about half an hour on the meditations and the internal exercises,
to turn those stresses around and use them to her advantage.

Long story short, by the time I left Hatcher Hill, she was feeling 100% better!
So why not turn your personal stress into power too?  It’s as easy as one, two – FREE!

This morning I was working out in the garden and I asked
myself “What’s the strongest medicine I can give to you in an
email.”
I haven’t figured that out yet but here’s the start of it.

I want to start by giving you a few extra Qi Gong pointers by
email.

This will also be of assistance to all of you who practice Qi
Gong but have never worked out with the Miami group.

First let’s consider why Qi Gong is so important and remind
ourselves why Qi Gong is different than any other form of
exercise.

Qi Gong and the Recharging Qi Gong in particular is designed to
activate the flow of Qi in your body.

Just like in acupuncture, when the flow of Qi is returned toyour body

the flow of blood and oxygen is restored. The Recharging Qi Gong is a very active form of Qi Gong that
activates every part of your body.

When the flow of blood and Oxygen is restored all of the fluids
and tissues are restored faster and the ability for your body
to repair itself is optimized.

The better your body can repair itself the better your body can
heal and respond to stress.

The positive response to stress is greater Strength and Energy.

This is what it’s all about.

It’s a workout and a rewiring of the Qi at the same time.

These nonlinear movements never cut the force of Qi or fold the
Qi back on itself like many exercises do.

Yes, some forms of movement and exercise can block the flow of
Qi and injure the body.
A great number of my patients are very active people that
injure or cramp the energy flow in the body and eventually
produce some aliment or inexplicable pain in the body that
nobody else can resolve.

Many patients think I’m a miracle working after I plunk a few
acupuncture needles in them and the mystery pain vanishes but
the reality is very simple.

The Qi flow was blocked. Many times these very same patients will come back again and
again to take the kinks out of their Qi.

I don’t even have to ask, I know they haven’t been practicing
the prescriptive exercises I have given them.

The opposite is also true.

There are many people that I have never seen in my office that
have gotten the Recharging Qi Gong, looked at the table of
prescriptive exercises in the back of the book, looked up their
ailment, started practicing the exercise, and all miracles of
miracles the pain is gone.
The proposition here is very simple.

Learn to open the flow of Qi in the body with movement and
meditation and the possibilities are limitless.

The exercises I have put in the Recharging Qi Gong are the
strongest medicine I can deliver and there’s only one place to
get it, here -> http://rechargingqigong.com .

Tomorrow I’m going to tell you about the importance of the
exercise “Warming the Channels” and why this exercise should
never be skipped.

Wishing you Health, Wealth and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

PS: Here in Miami it’s already getting dark by six and I’ve
had to put our weekly Qi Gong on the Beach class on hold until
I can find an indoor location or a weekend timeslot. Stay tuned.
