Some People Just Don’t Age Well

Some People Just Don’t Age Well…

I was back in my hometown last week and stopped at
one of my favorite Greek restaurants. Michigan has
a big Greek population and the food is great. I
was sitting with a few friends, enjoying some
treats that I haven’t had in quite a while, and a
couple came up to our table. The woman seemed very
excited to see me, and she gave me a hug and a
kiss. She knew me by name and asked all about my
family. I was somewhat embarrassed as I didn’t
have a clue who she was. She didn’t even look a
little bit familiar to me, and yet, she was going
on about how nice it was to see me. It seems she
went to high school with me. She even knew my
parents, my ex-wife, and asked about my kids by
name. I still didn’t have any idea who she was.
Then, she introduced her husband to me. I guess
she saw the surprised look on my face and realized
I didn’t recognize her. We talked for a few
minutes. She told me that they come to this Greek
restaurant at least a few times a week, and both
she and her husband enjoy eating, drinking and
playing cards. They were both out of shape. They
looked quite old, and their skin even looked old
with no aliveness to it at all.

Sometimes, the years aren’t so kind to people you
could tell that they were not on a health program,
and never were. As we talked and she found out
that I am a doctor, the questions started to fly.
She had a host of problems, and their workout was
with a knife and a fork.

Her situation reminded me of a story I heard a few
years ago.

“A woman was going into a dentist office for the
first time, and she noticed the name of the doctor
on the marquee. She recognized the name as a high
school sweetie she had a huge crush on. She
wondered if he could be the same guy. She was
waiting for about half an hour for the doctor, and
the receptionist finally told her she was next.
She came in and sat down on the doctor’s chair.
The doctor was a distinguished-looking guy with a
big smile on his face. He introduced himself and
was ready to get started. She introduced herself
and asked the doctor, “Did you go to high school
in Detroit, Michigan?” The doctor said yes! “And
did you graduate in 1984?” Again he said yes! “Was
it Mumford High?” Again he said yes, how did you
know? The woman said with a big smile on her face,
“I was in the same school at that time.” The
doctor smiled back and asked her, “What did you
teach? I may have been one of your students.””

Sometimes, people don’t age well, but it doesn’t
have to be that way. When we are young, we tend to
be reckless with our life – overeat, drink, and
take street drugs. I am sure many of us partied
hard, but if you didn’t stop by your mid-twenties,
it affected your internal organs more than you
could imagine. And by your mid-forties, you will
start to feel the effects on your health. You wear
your health on your face as wrinkles and spots
that you would never want in a million years.

I know many people who just didn’t change their
peanut butter-and-jelly diet, and never exercised,
meditated, or changed anything in their life since
elementary school, and are paying for it now.

If you are ready to reverse the damage you may
have done over the years, join me and the members

keeping you healthy, young, and vibrant.

We Got The Ball Spinning

In the Chinese art of Feng Shui, it is important
to have movement in your home and office. If there
is no movement, there is stagnation of Qi and that
could account for slow business or a lag in your
energy. That’s why, they claim they it is
important to live near a river or a body of moving
water. I often choose those kinds of places to
live. It’s also nice to have a pet in the house or
lots of wild life in your neighborhood. In my
office, I don’t have a river or a pet and we are
at least a mile or two from the ocean. To
counteract this and get movement in my treatment
room, I have one of those Japanese good luck cats
whose arm moves up and down, giving the room a
constant movement. If you aren’t for sure what a
Japanese good luck cat is, it’s the paw-waving
kitties you see in Asian stores. It’s a talisman
that is believed to attract good luck and fortune
for its owners.

Here’s how the story goes…

There was a wealthy man who took shelter from a
rainstorm under a tree next to a temple. He
noticed a cat that seemed to be beckoning to him,
so, he followed it inside the temple. Shortly
thereafter, lightning struck the tree he had been
standing under. Because the cat had saved his
life, the man was so very grateful, he became a
benefactor of the temple and brought it much
prosperity. When he passed away, a statue of the
cat was made in his honor.

Another way to get movement in your home or office
is to get a fountain or something with flowing
water. We have a fountain with a spinning ball in
the office that is visible to everyone as soon as
you walk in the door. The movement of the water
keeps a constant flow of positive energy
circulating.

Qi flow is important in the human body to keep you
healthy, young, and pain-free. If there is a
blockage of Qi, you are asking for some kind of
dis-ease, and that’s a guarantee. If you were
wondering why Qi flow is so important to your
overall health, your blood follows Qi. That’s why,
Qi Gong exercises are so important to your health
and longevity. These exercises, called internal
exercises, get your internal rivers flowing. They
are far different than going to the gym as they
will keep you disease-free and young for years.

I have two great programs. If you are just getting
started, pick up a copy of Flying Crane Qi Gong
http://www.rechargingqigong.com/flying-crane-qi-gong.html.
It’s a series of 5 different sets plus the
“Automatic Move” where the natural Qi will flow
through every part of your body and unlock any
blockages you may have. The other program,
Recharging Qi Gong
http://www.rechargingqigong.com/recharging-qi-gong.html,
is for the more advanced student. This series of
exercises will open Qi flow, heal your internal
organs and keep you younger in body, mind and
spirit.

I wish you the best in your Health, Wealth and
Happiness!

P.S. No matter which program you choose, once you
start on this path of longevity, your entire life
will change forever.

Is Astrology Real? The Church Says No!

Wednesday, January 14th, 2015
Share

It was the day before Christmas. I was having
lunch with a group of well-known astrologers that
came to Miami for the images and decided
to stay until the New Year. We all went to lunch
to celebrate Ray’s birthday. He flew in from
Arizona for his solar return. We all have a solar
return every year around our birthday. It‘s when
the sun comes to the exact degree that it was at
the moment we were born. Astrologers find this
important and, supposedly, where you are
physically at that time of your birthday will
affect your entire year. I blogged about this a
few weeks ago.

If you thought astrology was just something you
checked on now and then in the newspaper as an
amusement, there is far more to it. Astrology is a
science of looking at cycles. It’s the study of
the influence of stars and planets on our lives.
The position of the sun, stars, moon and planets
at the time of your birth is said to shape your
entire personality, affect your romantic
relationships and predict your economic fortunes.

Some people live their lives according to their
astrology chart but not me. I use it as a tool to
help look at what the possibilities are and then
make my choices with a little more accuracy. I
once heard the statement, “The map is not the
territory”. That’s true. But, a map is useful to
know where you are and where you are going. The
more choices you have, the greater your
possibilities are for your growth and expansion in
life.

When someone limits your choices, it’s usually for
their gain and your enslavement. It makes no
difference if it is with your food, the medicine
you can get, or the unjust laws limiting your
freedom. The more possibilities you have, the more
open you become. When choices are limited, you
close down mentally, physically and spiritually.
But, you can learn to heighten your awareness
through meditation and internal exercises. This
will open up your awareness and make more room to
choose, attend, and reflect, and new possibilities
open up.

Don’t be restricted by the collective
consciousness. Join me and the members of the Qi
Gong Inner Circle www.qigonginnercircle.com and I
promise you more exciting possibilities in your
life.

I wish you the best in your Health, Wealth and
Happiness!

It’s Time to Begin

Tuesday, December 30th, 2014
Share

Deep down inside, we know when it’s time to begin
something new. We don’t have to be told when it’s
that time, we just know when it’s time to start
something new and we do. No matter if it is to
change your diet, to drop a few pounds or to stop
drinking or smoking, you just know when it’s that
moment in time and it just happens.

The same thing happens in nature. The caterpillar
knows when it’s time to go into the chrysalis and
transform into a butterfly. Birds fly south for
the winter and whales migrate. It usually is
sometime around seasonal changes.

The New Year can also be a time to begin something
new. For instance, the Chinese New Year at the end
of February is when I usually plant my incredible
Feng Shui garden. But this year will be different
since I have moved into a condo. Many of my
friends, students and patients also live in
apartments or condos and don’t have the place or
the opportunity to grow a garden. But don’t fret
because there are still ways to surround yourself
with eatable greens. An apartment doesn’t have to
stop you from growing your own vegetables as long
as you have a balcony or a patio and some direct
sunlight.

This year, I’ll plant radishes, lettuce, spinach
and a few trays of wheat grass. They grow well in
cool weather and don’t require as much sun. Be
sure you find containers that are deep enough to
allow the plants to create good roots. Plants like
lettuce, spinach, Swiss chard, radishes, peas or
beans can easily grow from seed, and peas and
wheat come up really fast and are so good for you.

Growing your own food is one way to perk up your
diet and put more Qi into your body. I believe
that homegrown foods:
* Increase your Qi
* Provide additional nutrition
* Have a superior taste
* Have richer color

More Qi means more energy and more vitality which
equals to better health.

It is the same when you are doing Qi Gong
exercises. You set up your internal terrain to be
more fertile and to produce more powerful Qi.

Be sure to set up a sacred space inside like the
ones I talk about in the Qi Gong Inner Circle
http://www.Qigonginnercircle.com. Join me today
and make those changes. It’IMG_9332s time!

Here are a few pointers:
1. Set up a practice time and stick with it.
2. Dedicate your practice to something or someone.
3. Do your practice in the same place as often as
possible.

And in no time, your energy, vitality and Qi will
be moving off the charts.

and harmony, join me at www.Qigonginnercircle.com

How Traditions are Created

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014

Once upon a time long time ago Santa was at his wits end, he was stressed to the max. At times when stress is so high you are pushed to your limits. These times usually move you to a leave of learning and quicken your growth. One usually tries to hid from these stressful situations but the pressure will force you to grow beyond yourself. These growth periods in our lives move us into a better you. I have found that the growth pushes one to change a black piece of coal to a brilliant diamond and new traditions begin. Here is how the true story was relayed to me of why we find the beautiful angel on top of your Christmas tree.
When four of Santa’s images-1 got sick, the trainee elves did not produce toys as fast as the regular ones, and Santa began to feel the Pre-Christmas pressure.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa her mother was coming to visit, which stressed Santa even more.

When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two others had jumped the fence and were out, Heaven knows where.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the floorboards cracked, the toy bag fell to the ground and all the toys were scattered.

Frustrated, Santa went in the house for a cup of apple cider and a shot of rum. When he went to the cupboard, he discovered the elves had drunk all the cider and hidden the liquor. In his frustration, he accidentally dropped the cider jug, and it broke into hundreds of little glass pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found the mice had eaten all the straw off the end of the broom.

Just then the doorbell rang, and an irritated Santa marched to the door, yanked it open, and there stood a little angel with a great big Christmas tree.

The angel said very cheerfully, ‘Merry Christmas, Santa. Isn’t this a lovely day? I have a beautiful tree for you. Where would you like me to stick it?’

And thus began the tradition of the little angel on top of the Christmas tree.

Not very many people know this you may want to share it with your friends and family.

If you are at your wit ends and are ready to start a new learning period in your life join me, and the hundred of members of the Qigong inner circle. www.qigonginnercircle.com

Art, Creativity and Personal Growth

Thursday, December 4th, 2014

Miami has been humming for the last few weeks. We
had a big book fair and now, Art Basel is here!
The largest art show in the world and one of the
most exciting ones! It will run from December 4th
to the 7th. I’ve been going to Art Basel since
2006, sometimes in Miami, and I even visited the
show in Switzerland a few years ago. They have
everything from budding artists to the masters. If
you’re a collector, you can get a piece of art
from $500 to $10 million. If you ever are in Miami
on the first week of December, don’t miss out on
this one. One of the exciting parts of the Art
Basel is the stimulating program of talks and
panel discussions to deepen our knowledge of art.

My last guest on the Energy Medicine Radio show
www.bbsradio.com/energymedicineradio was Richard
Stocker. He is a renowned artist and also a
Rolfer, a form of structural alignment similar to
a deep tissue massage. I asked him how he
incorporates body work and art in his life. What
he told me was he sees the human body as a canvass
and he does a sculpture on the human body just
like he would with other media. Here’s a link to
the interview we did on the radio a few weeks ago
http://bbsradio.com/content/energy-medicine-radio-november-11-2014.

What I have noticed in my work through the years
is I also began as an artist, a martial artist as
well as a blacksmith doing decorative iron work,
and then I started working with gold and silver.
When you’re working with hot metal, no matter if
it’s steel, silver or gold, you’re doing alchemy.
You’re changing the structure of the metal and
molding it into a piece of art and slowly
polishing it, making it into either a knife, a
sword, or maybe, a necklace or a bracelet.

When you’re working with the human body, you find
bumps, knots, twists and different situations that
impede the flow of energy. When you start to open
up the energy, no matter if it’s through massage,
acupuncture, herbs, homeopathic medicine, or
medical Qi Gong, you’re starting to change one’s
energy. If there’s too much heat, you clear the
heat and bring in more gentleness, cooling the
body. If the body’s too cold, you add more fire
energy, bringing the body into balance. It’s
almost like you’re working with hot metal or clay,
able to mold it, free up the tensions, and allow
the vital energy to flow through every meridian,
every channel, and bring a person back to health.
They call this the healing arts, just like the
fighting form called the ,martial arts. It comes
from inside, it’s generated from the second
chakra, the chakra of creativity. This inspires us
and opens up the energy. When a person has fear in
his body, it’s not easy for them to open up the
creative channels. As you work with someone, you
can alchemically change the fear into kindness.
Those are the positive and the negative aspects of
the liver. So, we work from our creative selves to
open up the channels and free ourselves from
worry, struggle and blame, and bring into light,
aim, contribution and participation. These will
keep us healthy, vibrant, alive and creative.

I teach these things to a very special group of
students from all over the world. They’re part of
a very special group called Qi Gong Inner Circle.
Every month, they receive a teaching on either a
CD or DVD to help them grow and throw up the
shackles that bind them. If you feel you’re ready,
join me and the members at the Qi Gong Inner
Circle www.qigonginnercircle.com. You will be
delighted with the teachings you’re about to get.

I wish you the best in your Health, Wealth and
Happiness!

More Grateful than Ever

Monday, November 24th, 2014

Baby, it’s cold outside! The wind is blowing and
the snow is snowing! I feel like I am being slowly
cryogenically preserved, just like baseball star
Ted Williams and many others who chose to be
frozen. It’s just that I am still alive.

I am visiting my family in Michigan again. They
are a hardy lot of Northerners who are strong and
adventuresome. Living in the North takes a
lot more preparation than my home
in Florida. Every crack in the house must be
sealed up tight to stop old man winter from
blowing cold chill through every bone in
your body. The heating system has to be in
great working condition and lots of clothing
needed to endure the winter cold. I put on
my long underwear, boots, hats, gloves and a scarf
around my neck as soon as I get off the plane. I
think my blood has thinned out too much on my
sub-tropical diet.

You have to prepare to stay healthy no
matter if you are in the cold winter or in the Sun
belt. I am here for one reason and one reason
along. It’s Thanksgiving! Being with family and
friends over the holidays is a very special time,
a time to be grateful for everything and everyone
in your life. People are quite friendly in
Michigan. They always say hello even to strangers
and, if you ever get stuck in the snow, there is
always someone that will stop and offer to pull
you out. You have to be friendly in the North for
you never know if you’ll need some help. I think
it goes back to the time when food was very scarce
and you never knew if you were going to be able to
feed your family through the cold winter. So,
people stayed in touch with their family and their
neighbors to make sure the entire community
survived. One never knew when you would need a
helping hand before spring came again.

Here is one of Aesop’s fables translated by Laura
Gibbs:

Winter made fun of Spring and mocked her for the
fact that as soon as Spring appears, nobody can
keep still: some people go off to the meadows or
into the woods, others like to gather flowers and
lilies, or perhaps to gaze upon a rose as they
twirl it in the air or to twine it in their hair,
while some board ships and even cross the sea to
meet different kinds of people. No one worries any
longer about the winds or the great downpours of
rain from the sky.

‘Whereas I resemble a dictator or a despot,’ said
Winter. ‘I command everyone to look not at the sky
but down toward the ground. I frighten them and
make them tremble and sometimes I make them
content themselves while having to stay indoors
all day.’

Spring replied, ‘Indeed, that is exactly why
mankind would be glad to get rid of you, whereas
even the mere mention of my name is enough to
bring them pleasure. By Zeus, there is no name
more pleasant than mine! That is why, they think
fondly of me when I am gone and give thanks when I
appear again.

As winter gets stronger and stronger for the next
three months, it’s a good time to get more sleep,
increase your meditation, read, write and
internalize, and conserve your energies. I will be
practicing slow-moving Qi Gong forms like the
Flying Crane Qi Gong
http://rechargingqigong.com/flying-crane-qi-gong.html
and be putting more attention on my internal
practices of Nei Gong and Shen Gong. Winter is
also an important time to watch your diet, take
vitamins and stay in the right headspace. I
make sure that I get a massage, a
chiropractic adjustment or an acupuncture
treatment at least every other week during the
winter months. I increase my internal
exercises. I get a lot more sleep and eat
warmer foods like stir-fried vegetables, more
soups and less cold foods like salads, and I stay
away from cold drinks all winter.

Sometimes, we need encouragement to stay on
a program and not junk out for the holidays.
You can do it yourself but if you have a
coach, that can keep you on track mentally,
physically, emotionally and spiritually. It is
worth its weight in gold.
I belong to a few groups and get coached on my
business, my health, and even my diet.
The people who belong to
my coaching group are members of the Qi Gong
Inner Circle http://www.qigonginnercircle.com/.
Every month, they receive a DVD on meditation,
internal, exercises, diet, and much more to
keep them in the best shape. Are you prepared for
the winter inside and out?
Join us http://www.qigonginnercircle.com/
and be the best you can be, learn how to build your
Qi stronger than ever, and get healthier and younger all
winter long!

Moon Magik

This full New Moon is a special one, It’moonface300s also a partial
Solar Eclipse, visible in most of North America.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Moon, and
Earth align and we see the Moon moving across the
face of the Sun.

It has been reported that this Solar Eclipse will
disrupts the flow of energy and dissolves the old
patterns allowing a new energy to manifest.
In 1966 Smokey Robinson, wrote a hit song for The
Temptations in Motown “Get Ready” those are the
words of the day. Here are some of the lyrics;”Get
ready ’cause here I come/ I’m on my way/ Get ready
’cause here I come!”

At this solar eclipse, we get to see a new
beginning. It’s important to be more conscious of
what possibilities are at hand for you. “This
solar eclipse will create an extra powerful New
Moon in Scorpio, with major endings and new
beginnings in every aspect of your life.
Be open to what the right action is to take in
your life. This means seriously looking into the
unconscious to understand what you really want out
of your life. Take a close look at your weakness
and fears concerning betray al, violence, rejection
and self-worth.

hen the Sun is in Scorpio, it is a perfect time
to look at your shadows and see what you have been
in fear of, suppressing and repressing.
Now is the time to free you from those patterns in
life, and make a conscious choice to shed those
old patterns once and for all. What protected you
in the past is no longer beneficial, as we are
about to be re-born to a higher level of
consciousness.

This solar eclipse will move us along to take
action. It’s time to ask yourself; “What do I
really want in all the different aspects of my
life?” Then write them out. Look deep inside to
grow beyond yourself and ask for help and divine
guidance for your next step in your growth.

I wish you the best in your Health,
Wealth, and Happiness.

The Inspiration of Pegasus

In the seventies I lived in a small town of just
400 people in Telluride, Colorado with my family.
Whenever someone new moved to the mountains you
would meet them within a week or two. John Petrie
brought his family up to the high country and
decided to settle in. He was and still is a great
artist and visionary. I took a few art classes
from John and learned a lot about the human body,
proportions and observation. We became friends. I
did a few healing session on him and he asked if I
rather have some cash or trade for some art. I
jumped at the opportunity to trade and now have a
few of his prints. One of my favorites is called
Restrictions; it shows Pegasus and his rider stuck
bound to earth and reaching up to heaven to be
freed from the chains that bind him. John was
inspired by Pegasus as many artists were through
the ages.

In RestrictionsPegasus was a winged stallion.
He’s the Symbol of wisdom and fame, poetry and the
source where a poet draw inspiration. The mystical
white flying horse has been a profound symbolic in
relation to the spiritual energy that allows
access to the realm of the Gods on Mount Olympus.
Pegasus has been a profound symbolic of spiritual
energy in many cultures.

C.J.Jung; a psychiatrist
and psychotherapist was given credit for coming up
with the idea of archetypes, but archetypes have
been seen in most cultures for millenniums.

The Daoist have archetypes that represent the five
elements, they have an animal for each direction
North, South, East and West and the Center. I
learned these from my Spiritual Master they are
helpful teachings that make up my personal
mythology.

On my left in the western direction I envision a
green dragon that represents the liver, growth,
and the emotion of kindness; it is considered the
wood element.
In the southern direction is a Phoenix, the
firebird. It represents the heart, love, respect,
honor and joy, the element of fire that gives us
energy and strength.
In the eastern direction is the white tiger which
represents protection, valor and courageousness.
The organ is the lungs the element is metal.
In the northern direction is the black turtle she
represents longevity the kidneys and gentleness.
In the center of the four directions is the yellow
color represents the Earth element, it’s all about
balance and being rooted.
As you work with the archetypes they can restore
your health, protect you and help to interpret
your dreams these are practices that shamans do
and use.

In the Qigong Inner Circle

bits of information with the members to build the

Holiday Action Plan

Monday, September 22nd, 2014

The Holidays are just about on us again; lots of
eating, drinking, and hanging out but don’t neglect
your health for even a second. Get an ACTION PLAN!
The “ACTION PLAN” will give you an opportunity to
get things done, have fun and stay healthy at the
same time. These are some of the steps that will
give you a boost in your energy, allow you to
relax, and get the most out of your holiday.

• First make a list of projects you are working on
and prioritize them.
I do this a few days before I get ready for a
holiday break. You know how the day gets hectic as
you are getting ready to take off for a few days?
Well, start writing down what you need and want to
accomplish over the holidays. Hold the image of
your projects getting done quickly, with ease and
with an extraordinary quality. Visualize yourself
finishing everything you want to get done like:
yo ur work, your workout and spending quality time
with your family and friends.

• Next, as soon as you reach your destination or
get home from work take a walk and notice
something that you never noticed before, this will
start to bring you into an entirely new space in
your mind. Expect to increase your energy, and as
you breathe visualize an energy that surrounds you
and calm you and everyone who comes in contact
with you.

• Now place your attention in your hands and hold
it there for 3 minutes. This will develop your
awareness and keep you more focused. It’s called
the second attention and will help you to be more
open and less reactive to life’s changes.

• Do something unusual like walk backwards for 500
steps, this will develop your peripheral vision,
open up your creativity and awareness, as well as
giving you better balance and agilit y.

• Practice the smile meditation twice daily. Smile
into every organ and cell of your body. It will
increase your inner happiness and heal your body,
mind on a cellular level.

• When you wake up; before you get out of bed,
imagine your perfect day. What you want to happen,
who you want to see and talk to, what you want to
accomplish. I go through my entire Qi Gong
practice in my head every morning before putting
my feet on the ground. This practice burns in new
brain pathways and will strengthen your training.

All of these teachings are given in detail to
members of the Qi Gong Inner Circle. As a member
you receive monthly teachings on DVD’s, CD’s and
through the Internet. If you aren’t a member of
the Qi Gong Inner Circle yet, start visualizing
yourself as a member. See the DVD’s being
delivered to you every month; imagine learn ing new
