Stop Liver Wind Disease From Getting To You

Stop Liver Wind Disease From Getting To You

Spring Equinox is here. Staying out of the wind
and keeping your neck covered will be a big help
as the spring winds can steal your Qi. Before you
know it, you have a stiffed neck, sore throat,
colds and cough.

Spring Equinox from the Five Element point of view
is considered as the most difficult transition for
us in mind, body and spirit because one is making
the shift from being very internal to very
external and, rather abruptly, to say the least.
It can shock the entire immune system. Winter is
the Water element. It is very internal, deep, and
emotional. Its emotion is fear or anxiety (out of
balance) and wisdom (in balance). We retreat or
hide away in winter. Winter is time to recharge
our batteries before bursting forth in spring.
Spring is much different and its wood element is
the exact opposite. Wood is external; it grows and
expands. Wood is associated with anger, kindness
and creativity. Spring is the time to achieve
goals and go out to the world and create things.

As the weather warms up, one should change his
diet. It should include more green, bitter foods
like kale and dandelion greens, more alkaline, and
vegetable-based. For god’s sake, stop drinking
acid-forming soda. This is the time when there is
an onslaught of allergies due to nature becoming
alive and awake. The allergies we get from dust
and pollen lower the immune system, such as runny
nose, itchy eyes, sneezing, or other respiratory
problems. The Wood element associates with the
liver and the Wei chi, the body’s defensive Qi,
connecting to the lung meridian and the nose. It
is a great time for spring cleaning inside and
out. Clear the slate in your environment to bring
in new energy, which is symbiotic with nature’s
process.

I see spring as a time to reboot your system, a
time to restart and recalibrate your workout,
training and lifestyle routine to match the
season. Make this a priority for your health and
well-being. Call my office today at 305-407-0120

Happiness.
