A Season Of Rest.

Marco is getting ready for a Business Trip to Mexico.

He hasn’t traveled in over a year, and is a bit nervous.

This is unusual for him, as he has been doing international business and travel for years.

I ask him what was going on and he said, “I am feeling tight in my upper back and chest, I may be coming down with something?”

Marco and a group of investors were traveling and he did not want to get sick!

I had him meet me at my Clinic after Sunset; as he keeps the Sabbath and doesn’t drive from Friday at Sundown, until Saturday Sunset.

Marco explained why he ‘keeps’ Saturday.

“It is said that one should Rest, because God rested after the 6 days of Creation — and we should “remember” The Shabbat and keep it Holy!

We also implicitly learn that even God, as it were, needs a break. Our forefathers, who were slaves; were unable to enjoy a day of rest. The Shabbat is observe as a demonstration of our own redeemed status–and perhaps, with a consciousness about those who are still enslaved. I can respect his commitment to his believes, but as a doctor I work when needed.

For the last 40 years, I have been trained in the Tibetan Buddhist System of Meditation and Healing, and learnt the importance of Rest and Relaxation. The importance of devoting time and energy into recharging one’s internal batteries.

Even if you spend a day in Meditation doing Yoga, Qigong, Nei Gong, Shen Gong or in Prayer; that commitment can keep you centered, grounded and tranquil.

At this time on our beautiful planet, we need to take the time to get recharged and relax.

Many of the Meditations that I have been sharing with patients and students; gives us all the opportunity to Recenter, Destress and commit to a better quality of life!

I wish you the best in your Health, Wealth & Happiness!
