Be Considerate of People’s Time Including Your Own

Years ago, it seemed like I was a very bad time manager. I always arrived late.

My father-in-law, who was a powerful attorney, called me out one time. When I got to dinner about half an hour late, he said, “Can I ask you a question?”

Of course, I said yes.

“What makes you think your time is more important than mine?” he said.

So, I started paying attention to whatever was distracting me. I had to re-adjust, because it was very embarrassing. We don’t realize how important time is.

In the Chinese clock, every two hours affects a different organ. From 3 to 5 am is lung hour. Years ago, in the monasteries, that was the time that the monks got up to do their breathing exercises. Five to 7 am is when the large intestine is active. This is usually when people use the bathroom. Seven to 9 am is the spleen. Nine to 11 am is the stomach. Eleven am to 1 pm is the heart. And one to 3 pm is the small intestine.

The clock keeps ticking 24 hours a day and includes all the organs. From 1 to 3 am is when the liver is the most active.

When a person comes to see me, I always note the time to see which organ is the most active. Yesterday morning, I had a patient come in half an hour late with an excuse. She was supposed to arrive at the time when the stomach is most active, but she didn’t get there until the heart was active. And what do you think her problem was? She was rushing, she had anxiety and stress. All of these affect the heart. I take this into account when treating a person. What time did they arrive, and what is their symptomology? In general, we don’t pay much attention to time. But, time is critical to our health and well-being.

Like the Eagles said in their old song, “time keeps on slipping into the future.”

Before you know it, your time will be over. We want to take advantage of every moment we have on this planet. Cultivating good karma and making your life, the people around you and the total planet – a better place than it was when you got here. Time is of the essence.

So many people say that they will start taking care of themselves SOON. They’re gonna start exercising, clean up their diet, etc. etc. Basically, they’re procrastinating.

Maybe people think that they are immortal. That’s what you think when you’re young. As you start getting older, you realize how important time is and how important it is to be on time.

It’s time to get a treatment now to improve your health and stay healthy through the holiday season. Call the office today at 305-407-0120 and schedule your appointment.
