energy, Using Stress as an Ally

Turn All Your Stress Into Personal Power

When you live in Miami, you can go for weeks at a time not even speaking to one American. Miami is really an international city. In fact, most of my patients are from Europe and South America. I hear Russian, Spanish and Portuguese on a daily basis.

Friday morning, I worked out with a group of Venezuelans who now live here. We had breakfast at the French bakery. There wasn’t an American in the place. Hardly anyone spoke English and the ones that did, had accents that you could cut with a knife. They were that thick.

When I was leaving, I wished everyone a great weekend and a Happy Labor Day. That’s when the questions popped up.

What the heck is Labor Day anyway? To tell you the truth, I had to look it up on Google when I got home to see what it was all about. Here’s what I learned:

Labor Day, the first Monday in September, is a creation of the labor movement and is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. It constitutes a yearly national tribute to the contribution workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. They say more than 100 years have passed since the first Labor Day observance. Yet, there is still some doubt as to who first proposed the holiday.

Well America, we have a problem – as we all know. We are going through a transformation. Money is being redistributed and our relationships with the world in general are upside down. The slogan that the Commander in Chief uses, “American First” is without a doubt a closed system. It excludes people instead of including them.

The me-first attitude pushes others out of the way and causes more hate than love, more greed than compassion and more dishonesty than truth. Money seems to cover up many things that people don’t want to look at, feel, talk about or even deal with.

For the most part – people are STRESSED. We all try to avoid things we don’t want to deal with whether it’s a bad relationship that we are stuck in or financial blues. Whatever has you stuck, we are being forced to open our eyes to take a good look at what’s going on now. This is how we grow.

The ostrich approach of putting our heads in the ground doesn’t work, and it never did.  Whatever mess we made of the world isn’t the fault of the president or the government or the political parties. It’s our fault. We were not paying attention, and that me-first attitude is where it got us. This negative situation that is affecting all of us – is our reality now.

People are stressed out, getting sick and for the most part – don’t have a clue what to do. There are so many things one can do to make your life better. It would blow your mind if you knew how easy it is to turn things around. Stress forces us to grow in the program, “Turn Stress Into Power.”

I explain in detail what you can do to turn your STOPS into STEPS. People in general have put their attention into things that now seem to have little importance. They forgot to pay attention to their health: mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually for years – and it’s all coming up now to bite them in the ass.

You can make changes right now. Here are some simple things that you can do to turn things around. If you start this today – you will make a world
of difference in your life and that of your family’s.

  1. Get off your butt and start doing regular exercise! I know, I know. Your back hurts… or your knee hurts… or your head hurts. That’s no excuse! There is always something you can do: yoga, qigong, walking, swimming. Start a program today! No matter what it is.
  2. If you’re a smoker, a drinker or a druggy – give it up for 6 weeks. Keep a journal of how you’re feeling, what you get accomplished,
the state of your mental health and physical health. And at the end of the 6 weeks, re-evaluate your life. If it’s no better – you can always go
    back to your old habits.
  3. Start imaging what you want in your life, when you want it, how you want it and what you are willing to do to get it. The list can go on and on. These intentions you put out into the universe will return valuable information and generate positive suggestions to improve your life, making you more powerful and encouraging you to be all that you can be. Grow to your fullest potential.

I’ll stop here. Three (3) is a powerful number in all traditions, and if you follow these three steps – without a shadow of a doubt – you will experience
positive changes in your life.

If you need further direction, I’d be happy to guide you. On Thursday, September 6, I’ll be teaching a workshop called Turn Stress Into Power at Zen Mind Space in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. It will give you the keys you need to unwind those situations and show you how to turn your stress into power.
