Recharging Qi Gong

How to workout gently

Last Thursday I was doing what I love best. I was standing on
the beach, with a bunch of friends, some new, some old, and we
were enjoying beautiful Miami Beach while doing a gentle but
powerful workout.

Is it possible to workout gently?

Of course it is but in the USA we rarely say “Man I’m going to
work out gently”.

No, we say “That workout kicked my ___.”

Well at 63 years of age I’m done fighting and I don’t want
anybody kicking my anything, thank you.

I have knees that are strong.
I have a back that is strong.
I have shoulders and a neck that are powerful.
I walk strong and upright like a man half my age.
I can do a lot of things better than a man half my age in fact
and I don’t want any of that changing.

What’s more, I’m always working on something to make me even
stronger.

How do I do this?

The first thing is by teaching.

There has been such an incredible interest in what I do since
releasing the Recharging Qi Gong (http://rechargingqigong.com)
that I have been teaching several people on the beach every
Thursday.

Teaching is a great joy for me and helps me get stronger and
refine my own Qi Gong. (yes, I can still get even better)

If you have the Recharging Qi Gong program, live in Miami, and
you want to join us email me at

that live outside Miami but would like to get some extra time
email me as well, I may be starting a weekly group call for Qi
Gong practitioners

Second thing is not pounding the tar out of myself during a
workout.

This is a challenge for me because there’s not many people my
age that can keep up with me so I workout with guys generally
in their thirties or forties and I still have a competitive
streak in me.

Do I get sore, oh yeah, I work the muscles but I avoid being
seriously injured because my primary focus is on opening up the
Qi energy. I don’t do anything that is in conflict with the
flow of Qi.

I’m working with the body to work the body.

Sounds funny but it’s true.

People often get hurt when they get a bright idea on what to do
to their muscles and it’s totally intellectual.

Example: “I’m going to load up all this weight and see if I can
pick it up over my head.”

Some times this works, I’ve done it, but I’ve also over done it.

My approach, the Medical Qi Gong Approach, is more like working
from inside the muscle out. I’m not doing anything to my
muscles. I AM MY MUSCLES and this is my range of motion, this
how I can express myself powerfully.

When we express ourselves through our dynamic use of our
muscles we heal and get into great shape at the same time.

This is why dancers, gymnasts, martial artists, and athletes of
all kinds are incredible physical specimens. You could even go
as far as to say that the key to all body weight conditioning
isn’t in the “weight” or the “conditioning”, it’s the BODY.

When your body and its expression is the workout there is no
equipment to distract you. It’s all you baby!

Wishing you Health, Wealth, and Happiness,

Dr. Wu Dhi

PS: Today is Thursday! So don’t forget, see you on the beach
