Working Your Brain to Stay Younger

I’ve intensified my Qi Gong practice since last June, and every month since then I’ve increased the practice time and the potency in my training. This type of training really causes one to stretch, push, pull, squeeze and twist every part of your body and brain. It hasn’t been comfortable, and it isn’t exactly easy, but it’s necessary for my training. I’ve been serious about anti-aging practices for more than half of my life. Anti-aging Brain Qi Gong is a BIG part of longevity.

When you truly practice longevity exercises, it takes more than working your body. Diet and nutrition are also important. You have to work all the systems all the time if you want a long healthy life. Your Brain is the master.

Over the years, I’ve acquired a lot of knowledge for personal growth and to help my students and patients with their growth and health issues. But, if one doesn’t apply what you learn, it’s more or less just mental masturbation. You must practice and train your body, mind and spirit to grow. Challenging the brain and stepping out of your comfort zone forces you to grow. A brain challenge can be learning a new language, going on a trip by yourself or taking a class or workshop on a subject that’s new to you.

This coming weekend, I’ll be engaging my brain at the American Association of Stem Cell Physicians: a subject that I knew very little about. But, I know the importance of learning new technologies. The conference will feature three days of education with leading physicians and pioneers in the fields of stem cell, live cell, and regenerative medicine. What intrigued me was the line-up of speakers. Of course, there will be many MDs and DOs in attendance as well as naturopathic doctors and experts on the cutting edge of medicine.

I’ve studied Chinese medicine, Homeopathic medicine and many forms of body manipulations, deep tissue work, meditations and internal exercises to balance our bodies, minds and spirits for over 25 years now. And these modulates are all remarkable, but there’s always room for growth.

I know doctors, psychologists, trainers, and life coaches who have accumulated volumes of knowledge and are wonderful practitioners, but they don’t practice. They don’t train, and their diets are deplorable.

If you want to stay young, there are multi tasks that one has to do. Yes, physical exercise both external and internal is a big part of anti-aging. Diet and social activity are part of it too. To stay young, you have to work all systems – “Use it or Lose it.” The brain has to be stretched, fed and worked on to keep it functioning at peak performance. That’s the big reason why I take seminars and workshops on unfamiliar subjects, to give myself a brain workout.

If you could watch me at any workshop, you’d see me attentively taking notes. That’s true from the outside. My internal practice was quite different. I observe both the teacher and myself keeping a second attention. That’s part of the Tibetan Buddhist meditation practices that allows your entire being to gather information and make it part of you in the least amount of time. You actually embody the information. Being able to hold a second attention allows you to be the observer of the class, the teacher and the teachings while monitoring yourself all at the same time. That is a special teaching that is taught to the Qi Gong Inner Circle members.

If you want keep your brain and body years young, join me and my group here: www.qigonginnercircle.com to extend your own longevity. You’ll receive the tools that will build a solid foundation, keep you disease free and strengthen your body, mind and spirit.

Make yourself uncomfortable. The comfortable ones will be in their grave long before you.
