I’m in Lisbon, Portugal. I came here to visit another healer by the name of Teresa. We studied medical qigong together with Dr. Jerry Alan Johnson years ago. And we’re both licensed in the US and in China. Dr. Teresa is a doctor of ayurvedic medicine as well as medical qigong. She also uses sound therapy to heal her patients.
I thought that during my time in Portugal, I would be doing a lot of healing work: helping her patients and friends. I thought Lisbon was going to be my destination. But I ended up on a farm in the southern-most part of Portugal: Sagres at the southwestern tip of Europe. Teresa has a cork farm with an ancient still where she alchemically changes fruit into a healing nectar. One of my expectations during this trip was to connect with ancient alchemy.
We stayed at the farm for a few days, and then drove north four hours to Porto where they make Porto wine that’s sold internationally. Here – I was able to meet the mixologist whose background is also steep in alchemy. He makes and blends the different wines from the grapes that row all over the hills.
For three days, I sampled wines for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As most of you know, I don’t usually drink. But these wines didn’t even have labels. These wines were his own blends, his own form of alchemy. I noticed my dreams were wildly incredible as a result. I didn’t get drunk. I only opened my chakras. It was a very mystical experience that I never expected.
Sometimes when you travel, you have a plan. But if you can go with the flow, ignore the plan. Just open up. You can really experience magic.
Now I’m back in old Lisbon relaxing from a very exceptional trip. What I want everyone to remember, is that when you travel, you must open up your heart to the magic at hand.
