Holistic Health to Cure Yourself or Western Medicine to Treat Symptoms?

Last night, we had a group of people at the office for an interesting class on holistic health. When we’re talking about holistic health, it includes many different aspects of our mental/emotional, physical and energetic bodies.

We typically address most of our physical health issues and ignore our emotional and energetic bodies. In Western medicine, when you see your doctor for a physical ailment, he typically gives you a form of chemical medicine, rarely an exercise, a diet or meditation technique.

When we’re looking at our health holistically, we have to include all the different aspects of our beings. Many times, a person will have an emotional problem such as sadness and grief or anger and loneliness, and the medical doctor will tell them they need to see a psychiatrist or psychologist.

True holistic health treats all three bodies combined through exercise, meditation and natural remedies. In my office, I use applied kinesiology (muscle testing) that gives us an indication of where the imbalances may be. I also use acupuncture, herbal and homeopathic medicine and medical qigong that addresses your energetic body.

In many cases, it’s necessary to relieve the tension and stress on the muscles. To do so, we can use a form of massage called tui na and/or energetic cupping. I’ve found that by incorporating all three bodies in a treatment, you can relieve symptoms much quicker. An overall, internal healing takes place that’s rarely spoken of in western medicine.

In western medicine, doctors look at symptoms and they relieve the symptoms instead of resolving the root problem causing the symptoms. When we take the holistic approach, we address the root cause in all three bodies. By doing so, we’re clearing the energy fields, so the dis-ease rarely returns.

Few clinics around the world use these holistic treatments. If a patient is suffering, the doctor should use every method available to get their patient back to optimum health. There’s much more to healing than prescribing chemical medicines with negative side effects that typically cause additional ailments.

In the western world, we have to take responsibility of our own health. We cannot rely on conventional doctors who are mainly only taught what drugs to prescribe instead of truly healing their patients from the inside out.

If you want to prevent dis-ease, you have to exercise, meditate and eat well. You can’t expect to take a pill or even receive a holistic treatment and heal yourself just like that. Without taking care of yourself completely, you’ll end up sick again if you don’t start giving your body and mind what they need to function at their best to keep you healthy.
