My Black Cat.

I have a black cat for a very good reason.

Although Black Cats incite fear in many people who are superstitious; my cat is a working girl. She cleans and protects my yard.

The fear of black cats probably originated in Greece, where black cats were assumed to be companions of Witches.

In Greek Mythology, Hecate; who could turn into a cat, was a Goddess of the Underworld.

She became associated with Witches, Witchcraft, Black Magic and Ghosts.

In many stories, she is shown with a black cat; as her companion, and the fact that she was able to turn into a Black Cat, was often mentioned.

In many cultures, a black cat walking across your path, means bad luck; even today people still believe this!

My cat “Bindu,” lived in my house for a few weeks, when I first got her. I  fed her, brushed her, got all her shots updated; and even cleaned that disgusting litter box.

After a month of coddling, I informed her that she was moving outside; to work.

Her job was to keep the iguanas out of the garden and guard the house.

When most people see a black cat in a yard, they usually start walking backwards, to avoid it; and they won’t go near it or the property.

Bindu is a guard cat who watches over my home and garden.

Black Cats are also Harbingers of Good Luck in some cultures

In jolly old England and Scotland, a black cat appearing on your porch meant good luck will come in your future.

If your black cat has one white hair, don’t pluck that hair; it means your cat will bring you good luck rather than bad. Bindu has a little tuff of white, in her chest.

I gave her the name “Bindu” as in the Chakra beneath the whirl of hair at the tip of the head. It’s symbol is the Moon, which supports the growing of vegetation.

The Bindu Chakra is an important center for health. Giving us the power for physical and mental healing.

With the help of this Chakra, we are capable of controlling hunger and thirst, thus gaining the ability to overcome unhealthy eating habits.

Concentration on the Bindu, relieves anxiety and depression, nervousness and also feelings of oppression in the heart.

Bindu Chakra bestows physical and mental health, vitality and youthfulness, because it produces “the nectar of immortality.”

The Fountain of Youth, Vitality and Health is located in the Bindu Chakra – one of the most mysterious and remarkable Energy centers in the human body.

However, the most outstanding effect of the Bindu Chakra , is the production of AMRITA, the nectar of Immortality.

I wish you the Best in your Health, Wealth and Longevity!
