Rejoice and Prevent Dis-Ease

This time of the year, people are supposedly filled with joy and happiness.

They all want a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Instead of being that happy, joyful giving elf of joy and happiness and serving their fellow man, many people are selfish clods of ailments and grievances – complaining that the world will not devote itself to making them happy.

This is a sad state for the person, for his or her family, friends and society. We see it every day in our political atmosphere. I was reading a quote by George Bernard Shaw that I stumbled upon that I’d like to share with you.

The name is The True Joy in Life:

The true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being a force of nature instead of a feverish, selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy.

I am of the opinion that my life belongs to the whole community, and as long as I live it is my privilege to do for it whatever I can.

I want to be thoroughly used up when I die, for the harder I work the more I live. I rejoice in life for its own sake. Life is no “brief candle” for me. It is a sort of splendid torch which I have got hold of for the moment, and I want to make it burn as brightly as possible before handing it on to future generations.

How often do you rejoice in your life just for the sake of fun and enjoyment? Do you exercise every day; are you eating healthily? Do you spend any time meditating? I know that many of us don’t want to look at our problems. Men especially don’t take time to explore what’s going on with their health. They would rather live in the dark, and then they freak out when the ugly head of disease appears. I know I’ve been guilty of this, but as soon as I catch myself, I attend to my health issues. I’m not a big fan of Western medicine. I don’t take any drugs and haven’t done so in 30 years.

I avoid the flu shot like the plague, and the other inoculations as well. Most of those procedures are only to make the drug companies money. If you’re healthy, exercise and have a positive mental attitude, you can handle 90% of your health problems.

Now, I’m not saying don’t see your medical doctor. I see mine at least a few times a year for check-ups to see if there’s anything out pf place. If there is, I’ll change my diet, exercise, take homeopathic medicine. I’ll also dedicate more time to my meditation and qigong practices to reestablish my health and stay younger.

A few times a year, a California friend of mine, Dr. Carola Cuenca comes into town to test my patients using Computer Regulation Thermography. This is a system that’s used all through Europe and very seldomly used in the US. Why? The insurance companies don’t pay for it. It’s a natural, non-invasive system that can give you a picture of your health 6 months to a year before any disease shows its ugly head.

Dr. Cuenca will be at my office December 3rd to the 7th. Please call the office at 305-407-0120 to schedule your scan.
