Make Wellness a Priority in 2020!

What is the most important thing you can have in 2020?

Good Health; of Course!

Wellness is the most important aspect in our life.

It isn’t just about our physical and mental wellbeing. There are many aspects and dimensions of wellness. Here are some examples:

1.   Emotional or Mental Wellness- Our own ability to understand and accept ourselves and successfully cope and deal with the challenges and obstacles in life.  It’s about acknowledging and channeling anger, fear, sadness, stress and frustration into Love, Happiness and Joy. Meditation, Qi gong and Yoga will help to keep us balanced emotionally, and plays a big roll in our overall wellness.

2.    Intellectual Wellness requires that a person uses and takes advantage of the different resources available to expand one’s knowledge. Take workshops, go to lectures, step out of your comfort zone and read more. Travel to different cultures and expand your horizons. This will give you a different view on life and expand your body, mind and spirit.

3. Occupational Wellness

Occupational wellness refers to our ability to feel fulfilled with our work and chosen career. It involves activities that allow one to show our creativity, talents and to contribute to the greater good.
Occupational health is a leading factor of good health, and it’s about maximizing workplace happiness.

4. Physical Well-Being –  is taking proper care of our bodies so that we can function properly and optimally, being able to complete daily activities without extreme fatigue or physical stress and avoiding destructive habits such as, laziness, drugs, alcohol and tobacco.

Physical Wellness is one of the most-important dimensions of our wellness.
I suggest walking everyday for at least 15 minutes without your phone or music. If walking is too hard on your knees; try biking or walking in a pool. The gym is good also.  Open up to learning and practicing Qi Gong or Yoga, which will add a new dimension to your physical routine, keep you flexible and younger. Make sure that you find a doctor that can guide you in the right direction without filling you up with drugs.

 5. Social- Social wellness helps us build and maintain positive relationships that add value to ours and other people’s lives. Social wellness creates a sense of belonging, one become a team player and creates a ‘win win’ situation for everyone.

6. Spiritual – Dovetails well with emotional wellness, our ability to establish peace, harmony and opens up centers that affect the mind. Spirit fulfills our lives purpose and tune us into a higher being. It opens up our creativity and intuition to align our values with our actions.

7. Environmental Wellness

Environmental wellness is being aware of nature, environment and our immediate surroundings. It’s also about protecting the environment and protecting ourselves from it’s hazards. This requires that people think of air, water, what you eat, the quality of the land and take the necessary steps to protect it.

Drink only high-quality water; if you have a filter system make sure you get regular maintenance, same with your air filters, have plants in your home. Grow a garden and have fresh flowers in your house for beauty and color!
