Natural Body Cleanse.

While living in the Midwest I learned about so many Natural Cleansing Systems for the Body. One of my favorites was the Salt Water Flush that I still practice today!

Every Sunday I would go downtown to the Detroit Institute of Art with friends to hear Rev. Oliver Black speak. He was an older man, that had personally studied with the famous Yogi PARAMAHANSA YOGANANDAHe started the ‘Self-Realization Fellowship,’ an International Group that taught Meditation, Yoga, Lifestyle, Diet, Prayers & Longevity Practices.  Rev. Black would teach us practices to keep our Mind and Body Healthy, and other great practices that he learned from his Master.

One of these practices was called The Salt Water Flush or Cleanse. Now and then I do it to clear Toxins out of my Intestine.

Here’s how it’s done.

The Salt Water Flush is most effective if you perform it first thing in the morning; on an empty stomach. 


 INGREDIENTS:

2 teaspoons of Sea Salt

Glass jar with a lid

1 Liter of room temperature Filtered Water

2 tablespoons of Fresh Lemon Juice

Directions:


1.   1 Liter of H2O at room temperature, only use filtered water.


2.   Add your ingredients into the jar and put the lid on. Shake it vigorously to fully dissolve the salt. Make sure no granules are visible.


3.   Drink the mixture quickly, within a few minutes if possible (under 5 minutes is the goal).


4.   Lie down on your side and massage your belly on one side, then repeat on the other side. You could also do the Yoga Stomach Pump if you know it. If you can, manage to hold in the solution for about 30 minutes; this will help your body fully absorb the salt.


5.   Within a short time after finishing the mixture you should start to feel a strong urge to go to the bathroom, don’t wait!


6.   Once you feel you can no longer hold out, go to the bathroom. You might have to go more than one time, sometimes needing to use the bathroom for several hours before you’re fully “cleansed” and your colon is fully emptied.
 
You will notice a change in your body temperate as it cools you off, which is why it is suggested to do the flush in warmer weather and I would highly recommend staying home for the morning.

·      Help you Cleanse your Colon and Digestive System by bringing on a forced Bowel Movement.


·      Lowers pain in Inflamed Muscles.


·      Clears Fluid Retention.


·      Clears up Digestive Issues.


 
I also take Minerals after the Salt Water Flush, to balance my Electrolytes and I take it easy for the day. Fresh Coconut Water is Great to drink after the Cleanse; Leave the Coconut Rum out this time will ya! Just Kidding. LOL.
