Opening Your Heart Radio Show

Every Thursday night on WMNF radio, DJ and Sound Artist Eluv hosts Ultrasounds Radio Show with Eluv: a cool program that you don’t want to miss. Check it out:  https://www.wmnf.org/events/ultrasounds/.

Last week, Eluv had me as a guest and although I didn’t spin any music, I was delighted to be on the show. One of the topics we discussed that was quite interesting for many of her listeners was ‘How to Open Your Heart.’

The importance of opening your heart is to feel the energy of love, honor, joy and respect. The negatives of a blocked heart include hastiness, anxiety, itchy skin and insomnia. As you learn to open your heart, you become the alchemist transforming your negative energy into positive energy.

As many of you know, I’ve been involved in Energy Medicine for decades. The family of energy healing practices have been widely practiced since antiquity. I began my healing career by studying Polarity Therapy: an ancient practice originating in India. One of the focuses of Polarity Therapy is balancing the body’s energy centers and chakras.

This was my first intro into the healing arts which was very much combined with meditation and a strict vegetarian diet. After a few years of practice, I began studying Postural Integration, a form of deep tissue work, with Jack Painter in San Francisco.

I’ve been extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to study various forms of healing. These days, my focus has been on Medical Qi Gong, acupuncture and anti-aging medicine.

The foundation for all the healing modalities is rooted in spirit, the energetic force that brings life to us all. It’s not about religion and the dogmas that keep us in check. It’s about opening your mind and spirit to the energy.  Many people don’t really believe in healing or energy, but The Innate Energy that we all have is an important metaphor to guide further research.

There are numerous examples from the history of science where metaphor and analogy have been key elements in the construction of successful theories. Scientific metaphors can be key elements for posing truly novel questions, which upon experimental testing, advance our knowledge and understanding.

As Albert Einstein once said, “Live life to the fullest. You have to color outside the lines once in a while if you want to make your life a masterpiece. Laugh some every day. Keep growing, keep dreaming, keep following your heart. The important thing is not to stop questioning.”

It’s too often that science forgets about the true value of spirit.

It all goes back to spirit and opening your mind, thinking out of the box and opening your heart.
