The Power of Todays Blue moon

Today is the Full Moon and it’s the second full moon in July–We call that a Blue Moon, the second of two full moons in a single calendar month. An older definition of Blue Moon is that it’s the third of four full moons in a single season. You might even see an actual blue-colored moon. The term once in a blue moon used to mean something rare, but actually Blue Moons are pretty common.

The Full Moon is generally a time of awareness, when we see what has been hidden from sight, and what has been growing within us.

This full moon there will be a lot of emphasis on intimate relationships, so it’s going to be affecting the area of your close one to one relationships that’s where the tensions will manifest. Choose your fights carefully.

The good news is this blue moon is less complicated than full moon we had at the beginning of July. There are fewer planetary aspects and no major star lining up with the moon. In folklore, the monthly moon were each given names that helped people prepare for various types of weather and crop rotations. Although these names varied depending on different cultures and where you live, they generally identified the weather or other natural phenomenon that might take place in a given month.

Although there is no formal significance attached to the blue moon, you can certainly treat it as an especially magical time and go to a drumming ceremony, get together with friends and family and with out a drought the full moon is a very special time to meditate and train.
