May, The Month Of Merit!

Although this has been somewhat of a stressful year for many of us, the light is starting to shine again!

During this critical period in our world; the opportunity to connect, practice together and offer prayers, is essential to the well-being of ourselves, all sentient beings and our great Planet! 

Beginning May 12th and lasting until June 10th; is a crucial month in the Tibetan Lunar Calendar. This Season is known as the Month of Merit —also called Bumgyur Dawa; “Merits multiplied by 100,000 times.”

You may be asking yourself what Merit means to the Tibetans?  The Accumulation of Merit
is a combination of good motivational action. Motivation is having the proper mindset.

The SIX PERFECTIONS:

1.   Generosity

2.   Discipline or Ethics

3.   Patience

4.   Diligence

5.   Meditation

6.   Wisdom

Tibetan Buddhists worldwide make extra efforts in practicing Generosity and Compassion in order to accumulate merit and purify negative. Take the opportunity to practice the (6) Six Perfection!s They say that this month will increase your Merit 10000 times. Seize this opportunity!

The 15th day of this Lunar month, The Full Moon day, is called Saga Dawa
Düchen (Düchen means “great occasion”). This year, Saga Dawa Düchen
falls on Wednesday, May 26th. That’s the Full Moon in May!

This auspicious occasion is honored with a full day of practice, with multiple offerings and a special Full Moon Ceremony in the evening. The merit and blessings will be amplified by 100,000 times and benefit not only yourself but those you love and the well-being of the world!
