Get Rid of Ugly painful Cold Sores

Cold sores are nasty and seem to pop out on your lips at the most inappropriate times, like when your planning a big party or going out on that date that you have been waiting for years and not only are they ugly they are painful. Yes a cold sore is a Herpes virus and can manifest with an eruption of red, painful blisters or sores on the skin, genitals, lips or eyes. They often show up when there is a lot of stress and a weakening of your immune system. Just this week I have treated and talked to 5 different patients raging in age from 6 years old to a 73-year-old woman who have painful unsightly breakouts.

In Chinese medicine this is considered to be Fire Toxin and Damp Heat. Note: Any infection, viral or bacterial, is a type of toxin and a fire toxin is a hot one. Herpes is known to be a hot, fiery condition, and it’s best to avoid being in the sun, stressing out , or eating spicy food these will aggravate the condition. The dampness part is any wet, infected, fluid filled blister. Dampness is a concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that basically refers to an abnormal state of the body’s energy that results in a pathological accumulation of fluid-type stuff like: mucus and phlegm are examples of dampness in the body, when you get sticky mucus around your eyes, any sort of discharge or pus. One of the main culprits is dairy products Regular consumption of damp foods weakens our digestive system or living in the Northwest, of the USA. a climate that’s frequently wet and cold. By simply living in this region, our bodies are exposed to dampness all the time. If you have dampness in your system

Treatment can be divided into the short and long-term aims. For the short-term: To stop an impending flare-up, by treating the condition at the first signs of tingling and sensitivity, the sore can be entirely prevented from surfacing.
The long-term: To reduce or entirely eliminate the flare-ups. There are two possibilities: Liver Fire and Deficient Qi.
LIVER FIRE
The person’s body is quite hot most of time, and it doesn’t take much for this heat to trigger the hot herpes pathogen. Generally this type of person is strong, with a robust constitution. This pattern may be caused by longstanding obstruction of Qi and anger or consistent consumption of very warming foods, such as barbequed meats and hot spicy foods and of course fried foods. Fire has a natural tendency to flare upwards, which makes it that much easier to trigger any skin eruption on the upper body. Liver Fire is always involved with eye herpes, which include the lips. In order to treat this pattern, Liver Fire and herpes toxin are addressed simultaneously with herbal medicine.

QI DEFICIENCY
This means that the body’s energy stores, it’s immunity is low, allowing the herpes virus free reign. The causes: constitutional weakness, tiredness, digestive symptoms, and a pale, teeth marked tongue with a greasy yellowish coating. Treatment focuses equally on tonifying the qi, and attacking herpes toxin.

There is no true cure for the cold sores. Looking at the bright side there are preventative measures you can take that lessen outbreaks, severity, and duration.

Here are some of the preventive measures you can take:
· I have Vanilla

Vanilla extract is a natural cold sore remedy. The thought process is that its alcohol based, and running along those lines, makes it hard for the virus to thrive and either wipes it out or lessens the severity and length of the outbreak.
.

· Get ride of your toothbrush

Throw out your toothbrush, after the blister has formed and toss your toothpaste out as well. A toothbrush is the perfect vessel to carry the virus,

· Don’t touch it

It’s nearly impossible to resist picking at that crusty patch by your mouth and if it’s a child forget about it. Do all you can to resist touching the sore it can cause a bacterial infection and to make things worse they are highly contagious

· Organic Raw Moo Juice

Putting a compress of whole milk on your sore can help speed up the healing, and ease pain. Milk contains l-lysine. L-lysine helps inhibit the virus. I usually just get a bottle of Lysine and take 1 pill 3 times a day and avoid the amino acid arginine, found in nuts and chocolate

· Take a Hint and use Mint

Peppermint oil has properties that directly kill virus particles outside of your cells, like your cold sore. That herpes simplex virus resides beneath the skin. At the first sign of an irruption apply the oil directly to a cold sore and it will heal faster.

· Echinacea a Good one

Echinacea bolsters your immune system and its defenses, making it harder to catch bugs, and shortening how long you are affected.
.
· Take your Vitamins

Vitamin C has been shown to boost immune system, and white blood cells the body’s defenders. Also apply Vitamin E, topically to keep the lips and mouth moist. Vitamin C rich foods include
-Red berries
-Kiwi
-Broccoli
-Tomatoes
-Red bell peppers
-Spinach

Vitamin E rich foods include
-Nuts
-Leafy green vegetables
-Whole grain
-Avocados

· Cornstarch

Soothing to a cold sore, it help relieve the itchy burning pain of a sore, it neutralizes the pH of the sore.

· Aloe Vera gel

Aloe vera gel can provide quick relief from the pain of a cold sore once it blisters. It also fights off bacteria that may be irritating the sore more, and may make it go away faster.

· Ice cube

Cold sores hurt and are ugly. This little fluid filled dreadful thing on your lip that burst, blisters, and form a crust is controlling you. To numb the pain hold an ice cube directly on the sore for as long as you can, and then put on a dab of silver first gel jelly. The jelly will help keep bacteria out, and will lessen that tight, skin-splitting sensation that sometimes happens when a blister gets too dry.

All of these will help to speed up your recovery of your virus and to eliminate your pain and discomfort but bottom line to staying healthy is your immune system when it’s strong, you avoid the pitfalls of disease, and your body expresses vitality and health, if your immune system fails you you’re a goner in no time at all.
If you want to stay healthy, strong and slow down the ageing process the key is your immune system and the internal exercises will boost your body mind and spirit keeping your immune system strong and healthy. . In Chinese medicine we refer to the immune system as your Wei Qi Field. Which includes the three external layers of the body’s auric and subtle energy fields. This energy originates from each of the internal organs and radiates through the external tissues. There the Wei Qi forms an energy field that radiates from the entire physical body. This field of Qi protects the body from the invasion of external pathogens and communicates with, as well as interacts with, the surrounding universal and environmental energy fields.
When we practice Qi Gong we build our Wei Qi Field thus strengthen our immune system. Get on the program http://rechargingqigong.com/products/recharging-qi-gong/
