How You can Transform in 20 Minutes

Last Saturday, I was invited to a baby shower.
Strange if you ask me. I’ve noticed that there has been a paradigm shift in traditional and cultural practices in this country. Traditionally, only the women are invited to baby showers. They would eat, talk all about baby stuff, and open presents.
Then, eat some more, complain about what they ate, and go home after a lot more talking and “oohs”
and “aahs” over baby stuff. What in the world would any guy want to get involved in this except maybe the eating part? Most guys don’t have a bit of interest in hearing about the color of the room, the new bassinet, or how many organic diapers they now have. Whoever changed this tradition and now shifted it to inviting men to baby showers baffles me. It’s always been an unspoken rule that baby showers are for WOMEN ONLY, where girlfriends and the women in the family of the expecting mother get together to celebrate the new bundle of joy. They play games, open gifts, and cackle into the night like a group of hens, and have a great time. What I can remember is the men stay at home, enjoyed a little peace and quiet, watch sports, or go to the gym and get a great workout. Why would a guy want to go to a baby shower, anyway? It just isn’t our place.

After all my ranting and raving, I received an invite to Eyla’s baby shower, and this sparked my interest. So, I was off to the shower with a gift in hand and a few bottles of wine to see what it’s all about. To my surprise, there were quite a few men there, and it was a lot of fun. More fun than I would have imagined. I think the wine helped. I can see that my attitude, views, and expectations were really outdated.

images When I first discovered the power of internal exercises, my friends, co-workers, and even some students and yogis all thought this form of exercise and meditation was useless. But now the paradigm shift has happened. Every day, people from around the world are getting and practicing the Recharging Qi Gong exercises and transforming their lives.
