Owning, wearing and having Jade have always been
considered good luck, good health, and power to
resist evil. The most valuable Jade comes out of
Burma but you can’t get it any longer according to
the restraints of their government and ours as
well.
Burma’s Jade is not allowed to be taken out of
Burma. The Burmese government has stopped the
export completely with a penalty of imprisonment
or worse.
This has made the Jade much more valuable on the
world market.
Around twenty years ago before these sensations
were imposed; an old friend that I have known
since I lived in Michigan moved to Thailand and
married a beautiful woman whose family was in the
Jade business. At that time they were importing
Burmese Jade to Thailand and having it carved and
shipping it all over the world. That’s over for
now, many of the high quality Jade is minded out
and there is no more of it.
A package of these incredible Jade carvings was
shipped to Taos, New Mexico and has been stored
there for the last few years still in their
original packing.
I was lucky enough to track it down through a
mutual friend and now I have the Jade carvings in
my possession. They are awesome!
One piece is a carving of Quanyin in pendant that
has been created out of a piece of lavender Jade;
this Jade is all mined out…no more lavender
Jade. It is a secular work of art that carries the
highest transmittable vibration.
The Chinese have had a love affair with Jade for
the last several thousand years, the most
important Jade deposits are not in China, but in
upper Burma. That’s where these pieces came from.
For my personal collection I bought a carving of
Quanyin also known as Amitabha associated with
compassion. In the west Quanyin is known as the
Goddess of Mercy and is considered an immortal by
the Taoists.
It is a blessing to be able to have such a
beautiful piece of art carved in Jade in my home.
