energy, practice, Qi gong

Out of the way of Ike

Last night hurricane Ike was kicking up winds of 45 miles an
hour in Miami Beach. The waves were BIG and Instead of sticking
around I blew out of town…

To my old hood, Detroit city, for a little personal retreat,
practice and some family time.

I spoke to my Grandson today and told him I was coming to
visit.” Oh Great!” he said. “Are we going to do the strange
exercise that makes my hands hot?” It’s funny, he is now six
and he has been watching my Qi Gong DVD for years. Not to boast
too much, but he is pretty good at moving energy.

You’re never too young to start practicing or teaching your
kids the importance of regular practice. Why? It builds a
discipline in them that will last a lifetime. As well grounding
them mentally, physically, spiritually, their coordination
flexibility and agility will be way ahead of their friends.

Qi gong practices and all internal practices for the most part
have been kept guarded and only passed along to family members
to keep the internal power in the family. In fact, there are
teachers that only reveal these teachings to their oldest son
after he reaches a certain age and vows not to teach them to
anyone with out the Masters approval.

When I was a young boy, my father sent me to Judo classes to
start building responsibility and discipline in a hyper active
me. He knew that my energy was good. It just needed to be
directed in the right way. I have that discipline built in (or
pounded in) to me for years.

You’re never too young or to old to start a practice. In fact,
there have been studies out of China and now in America that
shows that the practice of Qi Gong in older adults has improved
the quality of their life by leaps and bounds. What does that
mean?

1. Better blood circulation
2. More flexibility
3. Less pain
4. A sharper mind
5. Reduced need for medication
6. Digestive system has improved
7. The over all sences are sharper

It’s never too late to start practicing. Carl’s mother, who is
in her eighties, started classes a few years ago and swears
that it has resolved 80% of her health problems, she practices
just a few times a week, but the benefits are cumulative.
