Autumn is Here, Are you Prepared?

The start of autumn is today, September 22nd. The
season is considered to have subtle and profound
effects on the body and mind – energetically,
physically and mentally – and will cause changes
in the overall well-being of the body and mind, in
ways we are not even aware of. Are you prepared?

Although the days become shorter and, hopefully a
bit cooler for me living in South Florida, the
sun’s rays in this time of year are still very
intense, causing things to dry out. Autumn is the
time to start changing your diet and the qualities
of food you ingest. This is especially important
for those of us who did not take care during the
hot summer months. If you were overeating dairy
and greasy foods all summer, the likelihood of
headaches and gastric disorders could happen to
you. The recommended diet during the autumn months
includes some sweet fruits and complex
carbohydrates such as rice, bread, and pasta, as
well as bitter salad greens like chicory, arugula
and endive. This time of the year calls for more
astringent foods such as bananas, lentils, and
artichokes. The best beverage includes purified
water, jasmine tea, and a quality green tea. It is
best to avoid oily, spicy, and fatty foods, milk
and milk products, and strong alcohol.

Fall is an excellent time to detox the body to
prevent inflammation and to slow down the aging
process. The Core Restore program is an easy one
and will help to detox your system in less than a
week.

Recommended activities during autumn are those
that keep you balanced and comfortable, for
example, taking walks in a shady park and
practicing the Flying Crane Qi Gong

This is the time of the year when we are starting
to go more interior and preparing for the winter.

I wish you the best in your Health, Wealth and
Happiness.

P.S. There are some really auspicious days ahead.
In late September, the best days are 20th to 24th
to make the transition into fall. An acupuncture
treatment using the Japanese system of
“ion-pumping cords” will reset your internal
energies and keep you healthy for the next three
months. Call to book your appointment at
305-407-0120.
