<p>It’s just about summer in South Florida<br />
again as the temperature and humidity hits the 90’s.<br />
This is the time of the year when my office fills up<br />
with patients suffering from migraines, headaches,<br />
cramps, pain in the lower abdomen, dizziness and<br />
low back pain. </p>
<p>The culprit is heat and humidity. Every day I<br />
hear from people complaining about THE HEAT, they<br />
have excess thirst, their face gets red and so do their<br />
eyes and irritability is a nice word for what I hear.<br />
In general, people are restless and not having fun.<br />
If you&#8217;re a woman combine that with your once a month<br />
cycle and all hell can break lose.</p>
<p>Heat is Yang or male in nature and tends to injure the<br />
blood and Yin is the female aspect. Heat dries things out,<br />
makes your internal organs wither and atrophied. Too much<br />
heat in your body will appear as wrinkles on your face and<br />
your skin will start to dry out and look old.</p>
<p>But all of this can be reversed or at least slowed down<br />
naturally, some with homeopathic, herbal medicine or a<br />
relaxing natural treatment.  </p>
<p>Hear are a few things you can do to beat the summer heat<br />
and cool everything down:</p>
<p>1.Stay well hydrated. Drink at least 6 glasses<br />
of water a day. Skip the drinks with carbonation-<br />
they will throw your PH off and will bring you<br />
more age related problems</p>
<p>2.Increase your Vitamin C</p>
<p>3.Tea is better for you in the<br />
summer than coffee, I find jasmine tea quite<br />
cooling and calming as well.</p>
<p>4.Believe it or not that summer Bar-B-Q can<br />
make you look older than you really are, it<br />
puts too much heat in the body.</p>
<p>6.Summer heat combined with too much cold food<br />
weakens the digestive organs. Coldness causes<br />
contraction; it holds in sweat and heat, and<br />
interferes with digestion. Avoid iced drinks<br />
and ice cream.</p>
<p>In my office I treat people where the root of<br />
the problem begins and together we can retain<br />
our youth longer and stay healthy.</p>

at the expense of your health, is just plain stupid.</p>
<p>The old saying penny wise and pound-foolish has<br />
more truth in it than you could imagine.</p>
<p>Here are 6 of the most penny-pinching<br />
things that you should never do.</p>
<p>1. Eating Fast food for the most part<br />
may seem cheap in the moment but in<br />
the long run you will just be mounting up big<br />
health bills later. Digestive problems, ulcers,<br />
blocked arties are just a few of the things that can<br />
go wrong by eating the wrong foods.</p>
<p>“Cheap people care about the cost of something;<br />
frugal people care about the value of something.”</p>
<p>2. Avoid seeing your dentists for<br />
years can cost you your teeth, gum problems<br />
bad breath and even heart problems.<br />
You may think you are saving money or don’t<br />
have the money but take care of your<br />
teeth they will soon be gone.</p>
<p>3. White bread should<br />
be avoided like the plague.</p>
<p>The whiter the bread,<br />
the quicker you’re dead!&#8221; – old saying.</p>
<p>White bread is a main stay of most people’s diets.<br />
Believe it or not, eating white bread is bad for you!<br />
If you want to improve your health, lose some weight<br />
and avoid the possibility of ending up with all types of<br />
diabetes, then white bread will have to go.</p>
<p>4. Freezing to death during the winter to keep the<br />
thermostat low is just a bad idea. Although you may be<br />
saving on the front end, your body has to work hard to<br />
generate enough heat to keep you alert and healthy.<br />
If you are alert you can come up with more creative<br />
ideas and balance out your income.</p>
<p>5. Neglecting the basic maintenance needed on your<br />
home and car will only end up costing you more money<br />
down the road. House upkeep, such as changing furnace<br />
filters, cleaning out the chimney, cleaning out the gutter,<br />
even keeping up with landscaping, is not something you<br />
should neglect. Neither is changing the oil and checking the<br />
fluids on your car. Lack of maintenance inevitably leads to something<br />
big breaking and that will cost you a lot more to repair than it would<br />
have cost to make small, ongoing investments in regular maintenance.</p>
<p> 6. Your retirement fund needs the years it has until your<br />
retirement to build, and when you take it out early, you&#8217;re<br />
costing yourself a huge amount that you&#8217;ll definitely wish you<br />
had later. Solve your urgent problems with a little creativity.</p>
<p>• Pick up a side job or do some freelance work.<br />
To make cash in today’s world you have to be more creative than ever.<br />
I have my medical practice, my Internet business and teach classes and<br />
I am always keeping my eyes open to new opportunities.<br />
Always keep your finger in the pie and you’ll be happier, and wealthier.</p>

<p>• Stop (or cut down on) eating out and buying coffee or soda.</p>

<p>Don’t be cheap especially with yourself and family.<br />

I have known people who never do anything about their<br />
health until it’s far too late, they are the type that think they<br />
are saving or that they don’t have enough to take care of their<br />
health so they wait and wait and then they freak out when they<br />
are sick and say they will pay anything to get their health back<br />
and it’s usually too late.  Yet they never did a damn thing to stay healthy.</p>
<p>Don’t let this happen to you.<br />
Start taking all unhealthy foods out of your diet.<br />
Start loving your self.<br />
Get on a regular exercise program and Stay well hydrated.</p>

<p>Everything was going just find today, I walked down to the beach before<br />
daybreak to start my meditation and trained. It was around 6: O’clock and<br />
everything was beautiful quite and still. </p>
<p>I practiced for a little over an hour and then headed to breakfast.<br />
Now that’s a great way to start your day. By 8:00 am<br />
I was home showered, dressed, relaxed and ready to start my day.</p>
<p>I got to the office and that’s when the she -it hit the fan.<br />
Anastasia is in her last days of school.<br />
In fact this Saturday she graduates from Miami-Dade Honor collage<br />
and Top of Her Class.</p>
<p>Congratulations!</p>
<p>Little did I know that I was totally booked with patient,<br />
appointments and everyone had an emergency of some sort<br />
 or another.</p>
<p>I even had a few new people walk in at the end of the day in major<br />
neck pain going on, I guess when your busy you just get busier.  </p>
<p> Around the busiest time of the day Anastasia received a call<br />
from her classmate and much to her surprise and mind she was<br />
told that they had switched her meeting from Saturday to today<br />
and she had to go to school to finish her last project.<br />
I was really not too happy that she was leaving last minute in the middle<br />
of the workday.</p>
<p>But sometimes in life these unexpected things happen and<br />
you just have to handle them like it or not.</p>
<p>Now if I didn’t start my day with the calm relaxing meditation<br />
and training. I could have really stressed myself out and been<br />
the one with the sore neck.</p>

<p>This morning after my workout<br />
and a little breakfast,<br />
I planned to go to the Glazer Farms organic market<br />
in Coconut Grove.</p>
<p>It’s about 30 to 45 minutes away from my house.<br />
What I like about the organic market is that<br />
they have countless unusual prepared salads,<br />
soups, fresh juices, mouth-watering coconut<br />
water and the best darn raw fruit pies that you<br />
have ever tasted. Not only are all of these treats<br />
delicious, they are extremely healthy filled with<br />
minerals and vitamins.<br />
My plan was to stock up and have a weeks worth<br />
of ready to eat healthy foods and treats.</p>
<p>My friend Bob said he was going to the market as<br />
well, so we planned to go together and meet up at<br />
around 10 O’ clock. The market trip usually takes<br />
around 2 or 3 hours from port to port- if you stop<br />
for lunch, and it’s a relaxing way to enjoy the morning.<br />
He picked me up with Shaina, his wife, and we<br />
were off to the market.<br />
We were driving for about 20 minutes and that’s<br />
when I heard the news.</p>
<p>Shaina said, “We were going to The Red Lands<br />
to “Country Robert’s.” Not only is it about an hour<br />
and a half away, nothing is organic!<br />
Too late for me to get off this trip!<br />
I was now a prisoner on Shaina’s trip.</p>
<p> “Cest La Vie.”</p>
<p>This kind of thing happens to all of us now and then.<br />
We are forced to do something or go somewhere<br />
that we really don’t want to do and this was one of them.</p>
<p>It turned out to be a lot of fun, although it wasn’t<br />
what I had in mind. I finally got home around<br />
6 O’ clock in the evening and just had to laugh at<br />
how the day went. Let me give you some good advice<br />
when you are “Shanghaied.”</p>
<p>You need to roll with the punches.<br />
You can go kicking and screaming or curl up in your<br />
emotional shell or love what you’re doing when<br />
you are doing it.</p>
<p> Do you remember the song by Crosby Stills &#038; Nash,<br />
‘You gotta love the one you&#8217;re with?’<br />
“Don&#8217;t be angry, don&#8217;t be sad don’t sit crying talking<br />
good times you&#8217;ve had Love the one you&#8217;re with.”</p>
<p>In every situation we always have a choice.<br />
How we will handle our own emotional state<br />
is 100% up to you.<br />
One can change it at will or be pulled around by our<br />

<p>How close are we really connected to each other?<br />
Friday evening when the moon<br />
was just about at its peak hours,<br />
before the last lunar eclipse of 2011,<br />
Anastasia’s little brother got into a bad<br />
car accident and totaled the family car. </p>
<p>This was devastating to her family but the<br />
ripples that it caused were enormous.<br />
First of all it left the family with out a car and<br />
extra expenses just before the holidays.<br />
You can imagine that it is now much harder to get to work,<br />
school and do the daily tasks for the whole family. </p>
<p>But here’s how the rippling effect<br />
moved through the community:<br />
Anastasia’s mother was an emotional wreck,<br />
as she thought she may have lost her son,<br />
the grandparents where shook up and Anastasia<br />
was an emotional mess as well. The boy’s boss<br />
had to work overtime and rearrange the schedules<br />
of all of his other employees to cover for the time<br />
he was in the hospital and his recovery.<br />
School had to be put on hold during finals;<br />
Anastasia had to leave work and had a hard<br />
time being on time as the family transportation<br />
was destroyed. Her boy friend was worried and<br />
had digestive problems for the entire weekend<br />
and her employer had to find extra help for the<br />
holidays and the little brother went into a deep depression.</p>
<p>This is common in families when something goes a fluke.<br />
It may happen in your life or in the lives of people you know.<br />
It is part of life and lessons that we all have to learn<br />
for our growth if we like it or not. We would all like<br />
to be able to avoid such things as pain and suffering<br />
but it is part of being a human and living on planet earth.<br />
These lessons can drag you down or you can use the<br />
energy of the moment to transform your life and<br />
when dropped in a pile of manure, you come<br />
out smelling like a rose.</p>
<p>You can change your stops into steps in a few<br />
minutes and pull your self out of the muck and<br />
mire by following these rules:</p>
<p>•        Be grateful for what you have.</p>
<p>•        Know that nothing is ever taken from you without<br />
                        being replaced on a higher level.</p>
<p>•        You can not attract more than you can handle</p>
<p>•        Don’t allow anyone to lay a trip on you</p>
<p>I call these the rules of the game.<br />
When you can live by these rules,<br />
stress will not be an issue.<br />

<p>Everyone experiences a Solar Return</p>
<p>every year around their birthday.</p>
<p>Astrologers say it’s when the Sun comes to</p>

<p>less stress we have. We all like change, but we</p>
<p>like it to change somewhere else but not in our</p>
<p>personal lives. We are creatures of habit and</p>
<p>when things change that are not in our normal</p>
<p>environment, we have a tendency to be stressed out.</p>

<p>It’s 4 o’clock in the morning and<br />
it’s pitch black outside.<br />
It’s so dark; I can’t even see my<br />

<p>The reason I’m up so early and on<br />
the beach is I want to get in my Qi Gong<br />
practice today before I travel up north for<br />
 the holiday fun – and you know it’s going to be<br />
fun sitting by the fire bundled up being with<br />
my family and friends.</p>
<p>My daughter- in- law Dana is<br />
cooking this year and she is a great cook<br />
and In my honor everything is going to<br />
 be organic.</p>
<p>My mouth is watering already and I’m looking<br />
forward to all of the traditional Thanksgiving<br />
treats and especially being with my close friends<br />
and family.</p>
<p>Take the time today to write down<br />
12 things that you are Thankful for,<br />
12 things that you still want to accomplish this year<br />
 and 12 things that you will do to serve others.</p>

<p>Over the river and through the woods to<br />
Grandmother’s house I go. </p>
<p>Tomorrow morning,<br />
I’ll be going up north and it’s going to be cold.<br />
 I have my winter clothes ready and packed, my<br />
boots, gloves, scarf and hats. They told me that<br />
they are expecting snow, It’s not often that I see snow!</p>
<p>But here I go—I’ll be spending this Thanksgiving<br />
with my Kids, Grandkids, my Mother and some Good Friends.</p>
<p>I’m really thankful to still have my mother around.<br />
She is going to be 92 in February and she has every<br />
bit of her facility. Mom is well read she reads two novels<br />
every week, and she breezes through at least a dozen<br />
or so magazines.<br />
She knows what’s happening politically and really has her<br />
options on what the government is doing, social issues<br />
 and she is a Detroit Lion and Detroit Tigers fan.<br />
 I talk to her every day and our conversations are always<br />
 Stimulating and built on love and respect for each other.</p>
<p>I’m going to be there for the Thanksgiving joy and<br />
that’s the reason  I am sharing my joy with all of you<br />

<p>I spent the last 4 days in<br />
Boston, Massachusetts.<br />
The weather is a lot cooler than<br />
Miami this time of the year and<br />
although the leaves haven&#8217;t turned<br />
different colors yet, it’s a heck of a<br />
lot cooler and low humidity.</p>
<p>One of my patients that I see in the<br />
winter in Florida lives here. She asked<br />
me to come up and give her a good<br />
tune up. For no apparent reason to her,<br />
her back went out and for the last 4<br />
days she has been bed ridden.</p>
<p>When I arrived at her home we went<br />
over her last few weeks activities.<br />
There didn&#8217;t seem to be any physical<br />
reason that she is in so much pain.<br />
No falls, no strains, nothing broken,<br />
she said she didn&#8217;t lift anything and<br />
didn&#8217;t remember bending over or even<br />
tripping on anything. As I question her<br />
on different things we hit on a BIG one.</p>
<p>She has been over worked and stressed to the max.<br />
Stress can knock you for a loop and<br />
cause you to tighten up your muscles<br />
and then even a micro movement can<br />
cause a muscle to lock up and push<br />
against a nerve and then you&#8217;ve had it.<br />
PAIN! The pain causes the muscle to lock<br />
up more and then the body will swell to try<br />
and protect itself and it all comes from stress.</p>
<p>Before we began the treatment we went<br />
over a series of exercises found in the<br />
Turn Stress into Power program.</p>
<p>We went over the Tension Release Exercise<br />
until she could clear all of the accumulated<br />
negative emotional stress out of her system<br />
and then I showed her a few of the<br />
protections so she would let the same<br />
stresses sneak back in and cause both<br />
emotional and physical pain.</p>
<p>What was the most amazing part of<br />
the treatment was before I could do<br />
any treatments of acupuncture or,<br />
Medical Qi Gong, she said the pain<br />
had completely vanished.</p>
<p>The emotions and the Stress were the culprits.<br />
They had her so locked up that the Qi and blood<br />
couldn&#8217;t run through the meridians and get to<br />
the organs and extremities causing all the pain.</p>
<p>If you have a blockage in any part of your<br />

that she wasn’t getting enough attention.</p>
<p>She felt like nobody was paying any attention to<br />
her at all.<br />
She was mad and hated her life.</p>
<p>I asked her what was going on, and she told me that<br />
 the other night she went to the restaurant with her<br />
friends and the waiter would only talk to her girl friend.<br />
He was a young strapping lad and she wanted to be<br />
acknowledged but he gave her no attention.<br />
This invoked the emotion of anger, jealousy,<br />
worry and she felt worthless.</p>
<p>The following day, she was at work and the guy<br />
who washes the cars texted her and asked her<br />
if she wanted her car washed.<br />
She said she wasn’t sure and before she knew it,<br />
he was texting everyone else in the office and asking<br />
them if they wanted their car washed.<br />
This infuriated her again.</p>
<p>Today when I saw her, her energy was down,<br />
she was angry, and literally hated herself and her life.<br />
I asked her, how she felt and she said,<br />
“I feel horrible, nobody is paying any attention to me!” </p>
<p>I told her a story about a friend of mine that owns a<br />
Siamese cat.<br />
Everyday after work, the girl would come home and<br />
pet the cat.<br />
The cat would purr, and rub its body against its master.<br />
 One day, the housecleaner came to the house and brought<br />
her child, who was only 8 months old.<br />
The cat became completely jealous and hissed and pissed<br />
 on the floor.<br />
That’s exactly what she has been doing.<br />
The same as the jealous cat.</p>
<p>I told her,you are letting situations in your life turn your<br />
 power into stress.<br />
