What makes you Happy?

What makes you Happy?
Is it your health, relationships,
wealth, power or position?
A group of researchers came up
with a list of 10 of the most important
things in life that create happiness.

I discovered the article in
Reader’s Digest and began to think
a lot of what makes us happy.
Here is what they said:

“Over the last 70 years researchers
have been probing happy and unhappy
people, and they’re finally zeroing in on
the factors that make a difference.
What follows are the top ten. By the
way, the experts think your genes
account for about 50 percent of your
disposition; the other nine factors
make up the rest.”
1. Wealth-
Money can buy a degree
of happiness. But once you can afford
to feed, clothe and house yourself, each
extra dollar makes less and less difference.
Once your basic needs are met, money
only seems to boost happiness if you
have more than your friends,
neighbors and colleagues.

2. Desire-
How much stuff do
you need to feel good? In the 1980s,
political scientist Alex Michalos,
professor emeritus at the University
of Northern British Columbia in Prince George,
asked 18,000 college students in 39
countries to rate their happiness on a
numeric scale. Then he asked them how
close they were to having all they wanted.
He found that the people whose
aspirations — not just for money, but for
friends, family, job, health, the works — soared
furthest beyond what they already had,
tended to be less happy than those who
perceived a smaller gap. Indeed, the size of
the gap predicted happiness about five times
better than income alone.
This “aspiration gap” might explain why
most people fail to get much happier as
their salaries rise. Instead of satisfying
our desires, most of us merely want more.
The good life remained always just out of reach.

3. Intelligence-
Are smart people happier?
Intelligence has no effect. Some researchers
speculate that brighter people could have higher
expectations and thus be dissatisfied with
anything less than the highest achievements.
“Or maybe scoring high on an IQ test — which
means you know a lot of vocabulary and can
rotate things in your mind — doesn’t have
a lot to do with your ability to get along
well with people,” says Ed Diener, a
psychologist at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. He speculates that
“social intelligence” could be the real
key to happiness.

4. Genetics-
David Lykken, a behavioral
geneticist and professor emeritus of
psychology at the University of Minnesota,
Minneapolis, believes our feeling of well-being
at any moment is determined half by what is
going on in our lives at that time and half by
a “set point” of happiness, which is up
to 90 percent genetically determined and
to which we eventually return after
dramatic events, our happiness set point is
largely determined by our genes.
They have found that genetic variation
accounted for between 44 and 55 percent
of the difference in happiness levels.
Neither income, marital status, religion
nor education accounted for any more
than about 3 percent.

5. Beauty-
Good-looking people really
are happier. The most attractive faces are
highly symmetrical, and there is evidence
that symmetry reflects good genes and a
healthy immune system. Beautiful people
are happier because they are healthier.

6. Friendship-
family and friends because
of the social support that arises from the
importance of the extended family.

7. Marriage-
Married people are consistently
happier than singletons. Happy people are
more likely to get married and then stay married.
But anyone can improve his or her mood by
getting married. The effect begins about a
year before the “happy day” and lasts for at
least a year afterward.

8. Faith-
Karl Marx was fairly close
to the mark when he described
religion as an opiate for the masses.
Of the dozens of studies that have
looked at religion and happiness,
the vast majority has found a positive link.
They even live longer.

9. Charity-
Several studies have found
a link between happiness and altruistic
behavior. But as with many behavioral
traits, it is not always clear whether
doing good makes you feel good, or
whether happy people are more likely
to be altruistic.

10. Age-
Why are old people happier?
Some scientists suggest older people may
expect life to be harder and learn to live
with it, or they’re more realistic about
their goals, only setting ones that
they know they can achieve. With
time running out, older people have
learned to focus on things that make
them happy and let go of those that don’t.

“When I was 5 years old, my mother always
told me that happiness was the key to life.
When I went to school, they asked me what
I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down
‘happy’. They told me I didn’t understand the
assignment, and I told them they didn’t
understand life.” -John Lennon

Not everyone is born with a sunny
disposition, but experts agree we can
all learn how to bring more meaning
and satisfaction into our lives.

I have spent many years in
perfecting meditations, exercises
and adjusting my diet and mental
outlook to staying healthy and happy.
I practice every day and do what I
say and say what I do. It’s no accident
that I am healthy and happy. I practice
and train to be there and stay
there and so can you.

Chinese New Year is ALWAYS a time
to clean up your life and that means your
internal spiritual temple as well as your outer temple- your home.
I started getting it together weeks ago and I’ll
make sure it’s all done by February 4th.
This year, the cleansing process is even
more important as we are in a Yang Water Dragon year.
The emphasis of the year 2012, a Water
Dragon year is to gather the spiritual benefits
and clean out all of the cob webs in our personal
as well as our spiritual lives.
The rituals done this time of year are most
important for your health, wealth and happiness.
In China, you will see statues of Guan Yin, the
Goddess of Compassion, riding on a Water Dragon.
This might give us a clue to be more
compassionate in all that we do.
It’s important to clean out your closets of anything
you no longer use, get rid of all the clutter in
and around your house!

You also have to make sure that before February 4th,
you clean and renew all of the spiritual things in your life.
If you have spiritual statues, paintings,
amulets, books, and ritual objects, no matter what tradition, they all
need to be cleaned, polished, dusted off and
made ready for the year of the Water Dragon.
I will light incense around my house at every door.
This is a way to feed the spirit and I always make sure
that there are flowers in my house with fresh clean water.
I also put the traditional Chinese Red Welcome mats
at my door. Internal cleansing of the body is very
important at this time. I do skin brushing every morning
to cleanse and stimulate my skin which is one of the
largest detox organs in the body.
It’s important to do your own personal cleansing,
inside and out, at this time. Deep cleanse the surface
of your body. If you have access to hot tubs, saunas,
mineral or herbal bathes, this is the time to soak,
scrub and sweat out as much of the impurities as possible.
Be very clean on February 4th
(that’s the day ).
Wear only fresh clothes on February 3rd and 4th.
(The Dragon starts emerging in the evening of February 3rd).

I am definitely going to the Russian
Sauna to absorb the heat, jump in the cold plunges
and clean my body of toxins! I am even doing the
7 day Core Restore Program to clean out my liver,
remove all additional toxins from my diet and lifestyle.
This will REMOVE, RESTORE, and REVITALIZE
my entire system! It’s a way of gently cleansing my
body inside and out, and it only takes 7 days!

I have a personal practice that is based on
ancient tradition that involves early morning meditations,
cleansing the house using epsom salts.
You can get the formula on my You Tube channel

Make this upcoming week a time of purifying your
body, mind and spirit. Eating pure foods at this time
is also VERY important. The Taoist Chinese say your
whole year’s fortune can depend on how you
enter the new year.

In search of a Good Meal

Friday, January 27th, 2012
Share

For the last few years I have been looking
for a good breakfast place near my house.
God knows I have tried everyone within a 5 mile
radius of my house and I am sorry to say there just
aren’t any good ones, but I kept on searching.

I knew there must be something around.
Most restaurants serve eggs, bacon, toast and coffee
but they don’t think about health. Breakfast is often
called the most important meal of the day and there
are good reasons for that.
When you wake up in the morning, your body has
been fasting, for hours.
Breakfast literally means, “Break the fast.”
A good breakfast gives your body and brain
the energy they need to function.
By eating breakfast, you’ll be less likely to overeat
later in the day. If you’re trying to lose weight,
don’t try to cut calories by skipping breakfast.
Studies have shown that most people who have lost
weight and kept it off eat breakfast every day.
Research has shown that those who eat a healthy
breakfast are more productive than those who don’t.
We know school reports that children who eat
breakfast get higher test scores and perform
better all year long.

What I prefer in the morning is protein like eggs at
least a few days a week with vegetables and
occasionally I’ll add some smoked salmon or turkey.
I usually do 2 whites to one whole egg.
A few mornings I just eat fruit and drink tea, and
this really gets the bowels moving and keeps the
system clean. As for the other days I drink a good
protein drink like I-5 from Zymogen -16 grams of
protein, all of the amino’s and the necessary vitamins.

I’ll add a scoop of “Greens First,” it’s filled with all of
the fruits and vegetables you’ll need for the entire day
in 1 scoop and I make sure I take my vitamins with it.

You can order the I5 and the Greens First
by letting me know and I’ll send it out the next day.

Oh My! – Possum Pie!

Wednesday, January 18th, 2012
Share

For the last few nights I have set traps
in my garden to see if I could catch and
remove the possums. They have been fighting
in the trees, making a racket all night and keeping
me and the neighbors up all night. My friend Harvey
loaned me his animal trap and with a can of cat food
and his steel trap, I have managed to trap and relocate
?3 large possums and one baby so far. I put the food out
at one end of the trap and when Mr. Possum comes in
for a snack, the door slams shut. Then I picked up the
cage and drove 3 or 4 miles away to the park and
put the critters in their new home. Hopefully they
can’t find their way back to my place.

They look somewhat like a big rat- the
Size of a cat, grey and black fur,
beady black eyes, cute pink pointed
nose, feet and tail like a rat and black ears.
When I caught the little guy he was
hissing and growling and showing his
50 sharp teeth.
They say they are
gentle and placid, but you could have fooled me.
I don’t do much trapping, hunting or making possum pie but
for the last few nights I was up late trapping.
Now everything is quite in
my neighborhood again, although I read that they will
eventually find their way back home.

We all like being where we are. Even if someone or something
relocates us or changes things in you life,
we will get back to what is
normal for us and back in our comfort zone.
That’s why it’s so important
for our health and well-being to establish practices,
exercises and meditations
that serve us mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The Recharging Qi Gong Program was definitely
not a last minute thought.
It took research, study, and years of practice to come
up with this program that
will support you on every level.

Today is the day to make those changes in your life.

Don’t hesitate, order today!

Why your Integrity affects your Health

Monday, January 16th, 2012

I was at a party this past weekend
with a group of people from Michigan.
I really didn’t know anyone, but as the
night went on the conversation turned to ‘who do we know.’
It turned out that many years ago, Frank
who is one of my close friends did some work
with a very beautiful model that he hasn’t seen
or heard of since the late sixties where he had
the opportunity to work with us on a TV show.
Anyway, he had to travel up north to the frozen
land of my youth and ran into that woman.
Marnie Lane, the model went on to say what a
pleasure it was to work with my friend and
what a ‘Mensch’ he was. By the way if you don’t know
what a ‘mensch’ is, it’s a Yiddish word that means
“a person of integrity.” A ‘mensch’ is someone who is
responsible, has a sense of right and wrong and is the
sort of person other people look up to.
You see, your reputation follows you around forever.
No matter if it is good or bad, it will stick just like glue.
That’s why your word and your integrity is so important.
“A life lived with integrity – even if it lacks
the trappings of fame and fortune is a
shinning star in whose light others
may follow in the years to come.”
-Denis Waitley

When you keep your word with
yourself and others your health
will improve as well as your mental capacity.

Neale Donald Walsch wrote in Conversations with God,
The Five Levels of Truth-Telling:
1. You tell the truth to yourself about yourself.
2. Tell the truth to yourself about another.
3. You tell the truth about yourself to another.
4. You tell your truth about another to that other.
5. You tell the truth to everyone about everything.

When these five levels of truth are applied to
your life you will start to be more congruent in
what you say and what you do. You become in
line with the universal principles and you do what
you say and say what you’ll do.
So many people forget the laws of the universe and
say that they are going to do something and never
seem to get around to doing it. This causes a break
in their integrity and before you know it their own
subconscious mind can’t and doesn’t even trust them.
The break in their integrity will eventually cause
problems in both the body and mind.
This isn’t the way you want to go.
When you Say what you’ll do something “Just DO IT!!”

Every week I teach a meditation class in my office
and I offer these teachings to people. Students are
starting to make major shifts in their life! Their health
is better, they’re more congruent with their speech,
and they are more honest with themselves. People are
loving themselves more, their self-esteem is going up
and any form of old depression is vanishing. Every
month, the people in the group receive a DVD on these
teachings to practice, learn and grow. They have reported
that the DVD’s are the best learning tool to keep them on
track mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Avoiding the Flu without a Shot

Sunday, January 8th, 2012
Share

We are in the first week of the New Year
and I’m about to start an intensive
Cleansing Practice.

My good friend Frank has returning to Miami for 2
weeks to join me on this practice.
After the holidays, we all have a tendency to go
off our regular programs, because of family obligations,
travel and special holiday ritual, etc.

The celebrations usually bring us joy, happiness and
more stresses and work than we can shake a stick at.
We over eat at thanksgiving, sugaring up our system for
Christmas and over drinking to celebrate the New Year,
although that was a lot of fun. For the last month or so it’s
now time to get on top of our health mentally, physically,
emotionally and spiritually.

Over the next 90 days I will see more people with
colds and flu’s, than I see the entire year.  I believe part
of the problem comes from all of  the overindulging and
just having too much fun.
The runny nose, loose stool and aching muscles are the
body’s way of detoxing from all the holiday cheer.
But there are ways to avoid all the misery and stay healthy.

We are constantly exposed to numerous toxic
substances without even knowing it. Our body has
to defend itself against environmental toxins in the air,
water, poor nutrition and drugs, viruses and bacteria.

Our body has a sophisticated detoxification system to
neutralize the toxins. But when we overload the system,
our detoxification organs cannot handle them.
Resulting in symptoms like constant tiredness, colds,
flu’s as well as more serious acute and chronic conditions.

Detoxification is one of the most important natural
processes going on in our body every day. I recommend to
all my patients, students, friends and family that they detox
at least a few times a year. Personally I detox my entire
system four times a year.

A good detox program clears out the lymphatic system, the
liver, kidneys and the bowels.
Some of the benefits that you’ll receive are your lungs will
function better, your skin will look younger, your brain will
function better and your energy levels will go way up.
Hear are some useful tips to keep your system clean and
functioning well:
·      Exercise daily
·      Get proper sleep
·      Maintain a positive attitude
·      Reduce your intake of coffee and black tea
·      Cut back on alcohol and for sure stop smoking
·      Eat a balanced diet
·      Drink at least two quarts of pure water a day
·      Reduce stress and learn how to turn it into personal power

This is one of the easiest and most effective detox
programs that I do and recommend.
The Homeopathic Detox Kit.

These Three Specific Powerful Homeopathic preparations
are easy to use and well tolerated with no bad side effects.
Avoid getting the winter blues, colds and flu’s!

Building the New You

Wednesday, January 4th, 2012

Did you set your New Year’s Resolutions?

I set mine a few days before
the New Year and now that we
are in 2012, several of us are
looking for a better life, with better
health, wealth and happiness in all
aspects of our lives.

Many of us have set our New Year’s
resolutions, but will you keep them?
It has been said that nearly four out of
five people will not keep their New Year’s resolutions.
More than thirty percent of all resolutions
never make it to the end of January
before being broken.

Why can’t people keep their New Year’s resolutions?
Maybe they were too drunk when they made them?
Or just have a lack of commitment?
People in general just have way too much
on their plate and although they want more,
better and easier life, change is always a changeling.

“Change is never loss-
It is change only.”
-Vernon Howard
From the Mystic Path to Cosmic Power

The number one resolution for the most
part is to make some positive changes.
It could be to lose weight, stop smoking
or give up something that has us hooked.

We are all habitual in nature
and that’s why it is so hard to
make the changes; we do the
same things day in and day out
-that’s because our human
design is robotic in nature.

It makes no difference if your habits
are good or bad– we are on automatic!
The critical key is how to change your
destructive habits to positive productive ones?

When a patient comes into my office
and needs to shift something in their life,
I start them off on small projects, easy to
do- exercises to help them build in a
foundation for more consistence. This will
establish a new habit pattern and once the
internal robot is programmed to do something
it will go on autopilot.

Even changing small things can
create big changes.
The Recharging Qi Gong Program was
designed to keep you on track with
your physical goals. The program has
build-in longevity practices to enhance
all of your internal organs and open up
the meridian flow. Those are the obvious
benefits that are built-into the program.
It is a system to keep you going and will
reestablish your regular training.

I’ve been using these techniques for
years to re-engineer many aspects of my life.
That includes overhauling my diet, regular
practice, eliminating energy sucking distractions,
and building my work routines.

Don’t be Normal, It Will Kill You!

I run into naturally talented people every day
and believe it or not it can be the worse curse
to be naturally talented.
You may be asking yourself
WHY?
You may be saying,
“I wish I was naturally talented at something,
but know, I have to work for everything
I get and that sucks.”

Mark Twain said,
“Talent is useless without training, thank God.

True talent plays a huge role
in being successful, but it takes more than talent.
It takes practice and dictation to reach the
top in what ever you do;

If you are willing to train more often,
as well as more passionately than anyone else
you have a good shot of being the best.

I know people with such increasable talent it
would blow you away, but do they train to perfect it?
Not usually and you know how the saying goes.
“Use it or loose it is.”
If you are not willing to do the training that
will develop your talent to its full poetical
it’s going to go away.

Usually those who really make it are those who
are ravenous to get to the top;
those who are willing to pay costs for lack of
talent with, something called
Unyielding Persistence make it.

Getting to the top through Unyielding Persistence
and commitment is only the first part of the
journey it takes;

Practice, Practice, Practice.

To stay on top of your game requires practice
and training all the time.
For a singer, practicing a hundred times a day
may be what will make them a star.
But it would be a major mistake to think for a
second that once you are there you don’t need
to practice. The more successful you are the
more you practice.

Your health and fitness is the same.

If you are lucky you’re born with a healthy body.
Then, through neglect, or ignorance of how to keep
it healthy, the you begin to let it crumble and
wear out; to get sick, fat and sloppy.

When you are young, you didn’t have to worry about
being fit, lean and healthy. You just are.
Then as you start to get older you became less
active and things started to change.
You may end up thinking all is lost and your doom
to be old, fat and sick.

But if you are willing to go against the grain,
to ignore all the so-called experts you can change
and reverse the aging process.

When it comes to health, Most conventional doctor’s
advice is totally wrong.
You don’t see a lot of healthy doctors and you
certainly don’t go to a hospital to get healthy.

If you want to stay healthy,
reverse the ageing process and lose body fat
and you’re willing to go against the norm
I can help you.

Yesterday, I just took the day to chill out
after the holiday.
Around noon I took a walk outside and did the
Recharging Qi Gong set, it took me less than
15 minutes. The rest of the day I could feel
my metabolism cruise at full throttle.
I did not achieve this metabolic transfer with
a wish and a prayer or a slow walk in the parks.

I accomplished it with the secret I reveal in
The Recharging Qi Gong Program.
When you follow this program you will be amazed
at how quickly your body changes.
So will your friends and family.

It’s the day after Christmas, the entire house is a mess rapping
paper balled up, presents still in boxes, your
in- laws are still in your spare bedroom
and the kids are out of school for more days then wish to count.

STRESS seems to be around every intersection you turn.

Everything may seem to be a little overwhelming and you are
stressed to the max.
We all know it’s going to keep on going strong for a few
more weeks, as we are getting ready for more merriment,
until the BIG bash on New Years Eve.

It’s a time to Paying Attention to your health as well.

I bet you didn’t know that December 26 is historically one of
the most dangerous days of the year.

This time of year is infamous for heart attacks, heart failures,
and strokes.
Don’t let holiday stress kick your butt.
We all want to keep our ticker ticking as long as possible
without any glitches and although the holidays are a time to

But it’s just a annoyance around the holidays so we wait
and that can be a your last mistake.

In Chinese Medicine there are some Symptoms of Heart Disease
to give you a heads up before anything ever happens-
things like vertical or tangential crease on earlobes,
Horizontal crease across the bridge of the nose,
deep narrow central crack on the tongue extending to the tip.

Hear are some tips to keep your heart healthy:
• Avoid Eating – high fat, high cholesterol foods
• Pass on caffeine
• No tobacco
• Lighten up on alcohol
• Sugar is a no, no!
• Butter, red meat, fried foods, soft drinks, spicy foods,
white flour all of these can add more stress to your heart .

onions, and nuts.

Doing the right Exercise can keep your heart healthy
and strong for years and years.

How to Party Day & Night and Still Stay Healthy

Friday, December 16th, 2011

Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la!!!!

You know what that means?
We eat, eat, eat and drink, drink, drink!

Over the holiday season, with all of
the festive activities and fun, we all have
the tendency to over-eat; over-drink, and
worst of all, eat all of the wrong foods.

Sugar cookies, sticky eggnog, basically
all fat and sugar!

This is a great way to spike your insulin
levels, clog your arteries and set you up for
the February Flu. It’s not that any of us are
going to miss any of the parties or any of the fun!
We are all going to eat some junk and enjoy it!
Let me tell you a little trick!

NEVER EVER put anything into your mouth
that you say is not good for you.
Let me give you an example:

I was out with Sherly the other day, and we
stopped at a little coffee shop to chat.
She ordered a big piece of chocolate cake
and a double espresso. She sat down and with
a big grin on her face, she said, “I know I shouldn’t
eat this, it will probably go right to my thighs!”
So, what Sherly did is she actually cursed the cake
and instructed it to make her thighs fat by eating it.
So many people do this, it’s amazing to me!!!

If you are going to eat something, the best thing
you can say is, “this is going to make me feel good,”
or that “this is going to make me healthy!”

That’s why it’s so important to say a little prayer
before you put anything in your mouth. It’s the
same with medicine, you never want to take a pill
and say, “this is killing me!”

When taking your medicine or your vitamins, you
should instruct the pill to do what you want it to do.

Let me give you an example:
When I take my vitamins, and I take them every day,
I always say to myself as I swallow them;
“I feel good, I feel great, these vitamins
will make my body radiate!”

You can tell your medicine or your vitamins
what you want them to do for you. You can use the
little jungle that I always use, or make up your own.

Over the holiday season, we all party and have fun,
but the one thing that you want to do is you want to
keep up on your nutrition. When we deprive
our body of good food, proper sleep, and days of
partying, we need to supplement. The easiest and
fastest way to keeping yourself healthy and vibrant,
is to get proper nutrition into your body.
Every day, I take my
vitamin packs in the morning and in the evening.
