for a good breakfast place near my house.<br />
God knows I have tried everyone within a 5 mile<br />
radius of my house and I am sorry to say there just<br />
aren’t any good ones, but I kept on searching. </p>
<p>I knew there must be something around.<br />
Most restaurants serve eggs, bacon, toast and coffee<br />
but they don’t think about health.  Breakfast is often<br />
called the most important meal of the day and there<br />
are good reasons for that.<br />
When you wake up in the morning, your body has<br />
been fasting, for hours.<br />
Breakfast literally means, “Break the fast.”<br />
A good breakfast gives your body and brain<br />
the energy they need to function.<br />
By eating breakfast, you’ll be less likely to overeat<br />
later in the day. If you’re trying to lose weight,<br />
don’t try to cut calories by skipping breakfast.<br />
Studies have shown that most people who have lost<br />
weight and kept it off eat breakfast every day.<br />
Research has shown that those who eat a healthy<br />
breakfast are more productive than those who don’t.<br />
We know school reports that children who eat<br />
breakfast get higher test scores and perform<br />
better all year long.</p>
<p>What I prefer in the morning is protein like eggs at<br />
least a few days a week with vegetables and<br />
occasionally I’ll add some smoked salmon or turkey.<br />
I usually do 2 whites to one whole egg.<br />
A few mornings I just eat fruit and drink tea, and<br />
this really gets the bowels moving and keeps the<br />
system clean. As for the other days I drink a good<br />
protein drink like I-5 from Zymogen -16 grams of<br />
protein, all of the amino&#8217;s and the necessary vitamins.</p>
<p>I’ll add a scoop of “Greens First,” it’s filled with all of<br />
the fruits and vegetables you’ll need for the entire day<br />
in 1 scoop and I make sure I take my vitamins with it.</p>

<p>Debbie came into the office and brought all of<br />
her medicine with her.<br />
She said, “Do I have to take all of this all of the time?”</p>
<p>I asked her how long she was taking these prescriptions<br />
and when was the last time she saw her doctor. She said<br />
that it was given to her by different doctors over the<br />
years and she said, “I just keep refilling my prescription<br />
and taking it year in and year out.”<br />
I said, “When was the last time you checked with<br />
your doctor to see if your medicine was still necessary?”</p>
<p>She told me it was last year and that is the last<br />
time she had checked anything!</p>
<p>I said, “Debbie, it’s time that you took responsibility<br />
for your own health. Half of your pills, you’ve been<br />
taking over the last 4 years, and you don’t have a<br />
clue what they’re for!”</p>
<p>She told me that she doesn’t really eat meals and<br />
more or less grazes all day long. One of Debbie’s<br />
biggest complaints is that she has acid reflex and<br />
gets heart burn and is constantly burping. I asked her<br />
if she knew what her pH was and she told me she didn’t<br />
have a clue what that was.</p>
<p>I told her about a simple test that she could do herself.<br />
Get a package of pH indicator paper and then every<br />
morning when she wakes up, take one of the little strips<br />
and on the first urination, dip the strip into the urine.<br />
This will tell you if you are acid or alkaline.<br />
It has been said that caner cannot live in an alkaline<br />
system and that’s why we alkalize!</p>
<p>I always have these strips in my office available for patients.<br />
There are a few great formulas that I use to change a persons<br />
system from acid to alkaline. I also suggested to her that<br />
she starts drinking vegetable juices, cuts out sugar and meat<br />
if her body is acidic. This will help to get rid of things like<br />
joint problems, tiredness, irritability, acid reflex and depression.</p>
<p>She can perform this simple test by herself<br />
and make some changes in her diet.<br />
You can take responsibility for your own health!</p>
<p>I asked Debbie what exercises she did?<br />
“Exercise?”<br />
“Do I have to do that?”</p>
<p>Exercise can put you in control of your health.<br />
If you have a car and you drive it all the time it will ware<br />
out soon and break down. </p>

If the body isn’t used it will break down sooner, that’s why<br />
it’s so important to exercise and to do the right exercises to keep you healthy. </p>

<p>This week I’ve been seeing more patients<br />
than one could imagine with environmental<br />
diseases, allergies, and hives. It seems to be<br />
all stemming from the excess pollution in our<br />
food, water, air and plastics. We are being<br />
poisoned on a daily basis and our government<br />
agencies aren’t doing anything to change it.<br />
It seems to me that the old mighty dollar is<br />
taking precedent over our health and well-being.</p>
<p>I had a patient just today who was violently<br />
allergic to peanuts, sesame oil and all types of<br />
nuts in general! Not only does she break out in hives,<br />
her respiratory system closes down to the point where<br />
she needs to be rushed to the emergency to save her life.<br />
Although, we have all heard of instances like this,<br />
it seems like in today’s world, it’s happening more<br />
often and to more people than one would ever imagine.</p>
<p>What can you do to protect yourself and your family?</p>
<p>It’s hidden everywhere!<br />
In Rachel Carson’s book, The Silent Spring,<br />
she warned us back in the 60’s that we were going<br />
to have a big problem with pesticides, herbicides,<br />
mercury, hydrocarbons, and more carcinogenic material.<br />
Did we listen?<br />
Heck NO!</p>
<p>Every day I see people with lung disease, cancer,<br />
gulf war syndrome, birth defects, and chemical poisoning.<br />
There is also the Sick building syndrome- that’s<br />
when the building has so many pollutants in it,<br />
poor ventilation, poor temperature control, and<br />
pollution from outdoor sources, chemicals like<br />
cleaning supplies, and copier machines. All of this<br />
lowers our immune system and before we know<br />
it we are sick as dogs!</p>
<p>Imagine that you have a garbage can in your house<br />
and every day you throw garbage into the can,<br />
eventually the garbage can will fill up and you will not<br />
be able to close it with a lid and then the next thing<br />
you know -you have flies, maggots, roaches and rats!!</p>
<p>That’s disgusting!<br />
Now, you can do one of two things:<br />
You can poison the pests and spray the bugs, but in<br />
no time they will come back. If you want to get rid of<br />
the pests what you need to do is empty and clean the<br />
garbage can. It’s the same in our bodies! If you have some<br />
dis-ease and you are trying to cover it up with antibiotics,<br />
steroids and over the counter medicine, it’s just not going to work!</p>
<p>You need to change your internal environment.<br />
You need to detox and you need to detox NOW!<br />
Don’t hesitate; don’t wait until you get sick!</p>

It’s just about 2012 and New Years Eve is upon us.<br />
My office is only open for emergencies, stuff like back pain,<br />
auto crashes and I can’t stand my relatives.<br />
When things are slow at the office it gives me a little more<br />
 time to train and to catch up on my reading.</p>
<p>I read a report this morning on the latest findings on what<br />
 makes your belly grow the quickest and kills your<br />
sexual appetite at the same time. </p>
<p>They claim that the foods that lead to long-term weight gain<br />
are things that most of us in the good old USA have been eaten<br />
 on regular basis for years.<br />
 Most people out there don’t have a clue that these foods<br />
 will fatten them up like a stuffed goose in no time<br />
They didn’t realize anything until one day the big belly just<br />
seemed to appear out of nowhere and there love tool<br />
just didn’t work like it used to. </p>
<p>Hear are a few of the culprits:</p>
<p>•        French fries<br />
•        Potato chips<br />
•        Soda<br />
•        Sugar laced  bottled fruit juices<br />
•        Most bottled ice teas<br />
•        Red meat<br />
•        Processed meats like  hot dogs<br />
•        Fast foods</p>
<p>When you have these foods groups in your diet on a regular basis,<br />
you’re going to be looking at a big fat belly sooner or later.</p>
<p>Belly fat is a real killer and will age you quicker than you could<br />
imagine and kill your libido quicker than a New York second<br />
 and that’s really fast. </p>
<p>As we get older our organs have a tendency to prolapse because<br />
 of lack of proper exercise, gravity and the natural aging process<br />
everything begins to sag.<br />
The lungs and heart don’t have the elasticity they had in your<br />
younger years and as they droop this affect the entire chest cavity.<br />
The liver and spleen are affected and of course both the<br />
small intestine and large intestine are affected.<br />
Everything drops!</p>
<p> The next thing you know you have problems “DOWN THERE”<br />
 and your sex life is over.<br />
The famous country and western singer Willie Nelson wrote<br />
 this poem on His 75th birthday on how he out- lived his sex organ.</p>
<p> “My nookie days are over, my pilot light is out.<br />
 What used to be my sex appeal, is now my waterspout.<br />
Time was when, on its own accord, from my trousers<br />
it would spring. But now I’ve got a full time job,<br />
 to find the firkin’ thing.<br />
It used to be embarrassing, the way it would behave.<br />
 For every single morning, it would stand and watch me shave.<br />
Now as old age approaches,  it sure gives me the blues.<br />
 To see it hang its little head,  and watch me tie my shoes!”</p>
<p>Yep, Willie is a country party kind of guy and misused his<br />
 health for years and is now in a pickle with his pickle.</p>

<p>Tis the season to be jolly,<br />
Fa la la la la, la la la la!!!!</p>
<p>You know what that means?<br />
We eat, eat, eat and drink, drink, drink!</p>
<p>Over the holiday season, with all of<br />
the festive activities and fun, we all have<br />
the tendency to over-eat; over-drink, and<br />
worst of all, eat all of the wrong foods. </p>
<p>Sugar cookies, sticky eggnog, basically<br />
all fat and sugar!</p>
<p>This is a great way to spike your insulin<br />
levels, clog your arteries and set you up for<br />
the February Flu. It’s not that any of us are<br />
going to miss any of the parties or any of the fun!<br />
We are all going to eat some junk and enjoy it!<br />
Let me tell you a little trick!</p>
<p>NEVER EVER put anything into your mouth<br />
that you say is not good for you.<br />
Let me give you an example:</p>
<p>I was out with Sherly the other day, and we<br />
stopped at a little coffee shop to chat.<br />
She ordered a big piece of chocolate cake<br />
and a double espresso. She sat down and with<br />
a big grin on her face, she said, “I know I shouldn’t<br />
eat this, it will probably go right to my thighs!”<br />
So, what Sherly did is she actually cursed the cake<br />
and instructed it to make her thighs fat by eating it.<br />
So many people do this, it’s amazing to me!!!</p>
<p>If you are going to eat something, the best thing<br />
you can say is, “this is going to make me feel good,”<br />
or that “this is going to make me healthy!”</p>
<p>That’s why it’s so important to say a little prayer<br />
before you put anything in your mouth. It’s the<br />
same with medicine, you never want to take a pill<br />
and say, “this is killing me!”</p>
<p>When taking your medicine or your vitamins, you<br />
should instruct the pill to do what you want it to do.</p>
<p>Let me give you an example:<br />
When I take my vitamins, and I take them every day,<br />
I always say to myself as I swallow them;<br />
“I feel good, I feel great, these vitamins<br />
will make my body radiate!” </p>
<p>You can tell your medicine or your vitamins<br />
what you want them to do for you. You can use the<br />
little jungle that I always use, or make up your own. </p>
<p>Over the holiday season, we all party and have fun,<br />
but the one thing that you want to do is you want to<br />
keep up on your nutrition. When we deprive<br />
our body of good food, proper sleep, and days of<br />
partying, we need to supplement. The easiest and<br />
fastest way to keeping yourself healthy and vibrant,<br />
is to get proper nutrition into your body.<br />

<p>I started water fast for a few days<br />
to clear out all the cobwebs so to speak.</p>
<p>Fasting has many benefits:</p>
<p>*Overall health<br />
*Detoxing the body<br />
*The Opening of Spiritual centers. </p>
<p>A body full of toxic foods,<br />
environmental poisons and toxic<br />
thoughts, will eventually cause<br />
health problems to your body, mind and spirit. </p>
<p>If your head is filled with evil thoughts,<br />
this can transfer the evil influences on the body.<br />
What affects the body, affects the mind<br />
and vice versa. One of the best ways to<br />
purify it is by fasting. This will allow you<br />
to see things more clearly.<br />
Let me explain how this works.</p>
<p>The Three Biggest Energy Drains in life:<br />
- Sex<br />
- Over Talking<br />
- Digestion</p>
<p>When we fast we give our digestive<br />
system rest and a chance to renew<br />
our energy supply.</p>
<p>If you can limit your SPEECH<br />
when you are on a fast&#8211; you can easily<br />
open the SPIRITUAL centers and SEX is a no,<br />
 no! &#8211; at least for a few days,<br />
we don’t want any energy leaks.<br />
This will give you a lot more energy<br />
and you will notice that you will have a<br />
lot more free time when you are fasting.</p>
<p>I suggest a one day fast to start.<br />
Here is how to do it:</p>
<p>After your last meal in the evening, drink<br />
a glass of water and retire early.<br />
When you wake up, first thing- have a glass<br />
of pure room temperature water. You can add a half<br />
of lemon if you wish. Use pure water<br />
to flush and purify the system.<br />
I drink 3 or 4 quarts a day when fasting and<br />
sleep a minimum of 8 hours with a nap or<br />
two during the day. I try to make my<br />
fasting days on days that I don&#8217;t have to work<br />
or have much interaction with people.<br />
The less talking you do, the more energy you<br />
 will have.</p>
<p>While on the fast, spend some time in nature,<br />
walking, or sitting near the water. It will quite<br />
the mind and allow your head space to open<br />
more. If you can&#8217;t get out in nature spend some<br />
alone time.</p>
<p>No Mind Sucking TV!<br />
If you are a reader, read only inspirational<br />
books or go to an art museum and quietly<br />
walk around. When I am fasting, I&#8217;ll listen<br />
to soothing music, without words<br />
-only instruments.</p>
<p>Fasting is a personal time and you are more<br />
likely to be in a programmable state,<br />
so guard your speech, as well as what you<br />
listen too.</p>
<p>While fasting, we shed extra weight from<br />
the body and gain strength and clarity of<br />
the mind.</p>
<p>For those of you who have emotional, nervous and<br />
sexual problems, there is no better way than<br />
fasting to clear and cure those problems.<br />
Your mind will become quiet.<br />
Fasting, whether for physical well-being,<br />
or a spiritual purpose, is a very scientific<br />
way to clear the body and mind of stuck energy.</p>
<p>This is one of the best ways to get started on<br />
a detox program.<br />

That’s a lot of years and a lot of tradition, the holiday started last Wednesday night, September 28th. It’s called Rosh Hashanah, meaning “the head or first of the year.”</p>
<p>The next Ten Days begins with Repentance, and concludes with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement. It’s a time of introspection, forgiveness, and hope for a year in which we do better than we did in the past year.<br />
This holiday is known for the custom of eating apples dipped in honey, symbolizing the sweetness of coming year may bring. </p>
<p>Rosh Hashanah is celebrated on the day when, according to tradition, the first humans were created; this is when people celebrate Rosh Hashanah as the birthday of the world and of humanity.  The people from all over the world embark upon the serious task of examining their lives and repenting for any wrongs they have committed during the previous year. They are encouraged to make amends with anyone they have wronged and to make plans for improving during the coming year. It’s all about making peace in the community and striving to be a better person.</p>
<p>One of the traditions that I always do at this time, when the season changes from summer to fall is fasting and forgiveness for any wrongs I may have done. This tradition is in alignment with both the holiday and the season.</p>
<p> I fast for many reasons.<br />
First there are millions of people all over the world fasting at this time.<br />
It is sort of a collective consciousness of fasting because it makes it easier to do, like having waves of energy push you along making the fast easier.<br />
Second fasting has a significant spiritual benefit. It helps to focus more on spiritual parts of our being.<br />
The third reason is for all the health benefits.<br />
A fast will give our system rest and help clean out toxins from our bodies.<br />
Benefits of fasting are:<br />
*Detoxification of the digestive system, liver and the kidneys<br />
*Cooling of the core body temperature. This increases the bodies Growth hormones to keep you younger.<br />
* A feeling of rejuvenation and extended life expectancy</p>
<p>There have been significant studies that conclude; less caloric intake will extend life.<br />
Yes, it’s true, fasting is one of the longevity secrets. There are many reasons to consider fasting as a benefit to one&#8217;s health; the body rids itself of the toxins that have built up in our fat throughout the years. The body heals itself, and repairs all of the damaged organs during a fast. Finally there is good evidence to show that regulated fasting contributes to Longevity.</p>
<p>What I have found in my years of practice, is if you pay attention to your diet, do the right exercises like yoga and Qi gong and don&#8217;t hold on to the stresses in life you &#8212;you will stay disease free and live a happy life!</p>

<p>“High – fructose corn syrup a<br />
factor in obesity.”</p>
<p>“Dear Doctor,<br />
I don’t remember you ever<br />
discussing high-fructose corn syrup and<br />
condensed corn syrup. Almost every product<br />
includes these ingredients. Please let us know<br />
the dangers and why the government allows it.</p>
<p>Fructose is the sugar found in fruits. Table<br />
sugar is sucrose, a combination of fructose<br />
and glucose .Up to the 1980s, sucrose was the<br />
universal sweetener. In the 1980s, a process was<br />
discovered that turned cornstarch into corn syrup<br />
and then into fructose. Fructose was then combined<br />
with glucose to produce a sugar product with the<br />
terrible name of high- fructose corn syrup. It’s very<br />
similar to sucrose, table sugar. High – fructose corn<br />
syrup consists of 45 percent glucose and 55 percent<br />
fructose. Table sugar is 50 percent glucose and 50<br />
percent fructose.</p>
<p>High-fructose corn syrup is as sweet as and cheaper<br />
than table sugar, the sugar that comes from<br />
sugar cane and sugar beets. Manufacturers use it<br />
in commercial products like soft drinks, baked goods,<br />
energy bars and many candies.<br />
So why all the fuss? People have increased their<br />
consumption of high-fructose corn syrup foods and<br />
drinks so much that they have become a main source<br />
of their calorie intake. Some think it is the reason that<br />
the obesity epidemic has struck North America. Like<br />
other sugars, this can lead to problems like diabetes.<br />
Excessive amounts cause fat accumulation in the liver.</p>
<p>One 12-ounce can of most soft drinks has the equivalent of<br />
10 teaspoons of sugar, 150 calories – a large sugar load<br />
and a large calorie load. The average American drinks<br />
36 gallons of soft drinks in a year.”</p>
<p>Lately, the corn industry has been running ads saying<br />
that high fructose corn syrup is like a healthy vegetable. </p>
<p>I don’t think so!<br />
Eating and drinking High-fructose corn syrup affects<br />
your health way more than you can imagine. Read all<br />
labels before you put anything in your mouth. Here are<br />
just a few of problems caused by the intake of<br />
High-fructose corn syrup.</p>
<p>* Weight gain<br />
* Heart disease<br />
* Increases in body fat<br />
* Higher levels of triglycerides<br />
* Bad cholesterol, the type that sticks to your arteries!<br />
* Diabetes<br />
* Makes people want to eat more<br />
* Osteoporosis<br />
* Gout<br />
* Fibromyalgia</p>
<p>You may be asking yourself right now, why would<br />
our government allow something to be put in our<br />
foods that would do so much harm?</p>
<p>Big corporations have strong lobbyists who work to<br />
get legislation through. They pay lots and lots of<br />
money to give big business what they want &#8211;and<br />
they want money and power. It doesn’t have<br />
anything to do with your health or wellbeing.<br />
What can you do?</p>
<p>1. Read all labels<br />
2. Ask for healthy products in your super market<br />
3. Don’t buy foods or drinks with high fructose corn syrup<br />
4. Avoid restaurants that use that stuff in their kitchen<br />
5. Stop drinking all sodas<br />

<p>The more locally grown fresh food you put into<br />

like a muscular body, personal power<br />

to project your Qi, it takes consistent<br />
practices. People who focus on one<br />
thing at a time get superior results,<br />
and that’s a known fact.</p>
<p>You have to be consistent with<br />
your practice. When you put in the<br />
time day after day the skill is developed.<br />
When you focus, a break through<br />
happens mentally, emotionally and physically.</p>
<p>If you go from one project to the next<br />
never finishing what you start- you will<br />
end up exhausted with little results.<br />
But when you dedicate yourself you<br />
become an unstoppable force.</p>
<p>It’s as simple as changing your Stops into STEPS,<br />
taking a step at a time until you get to the top.<br />
When the master was asked,</p>
<p>“How do you eat an elephant?”<br />
He replied, “One bit at a time.”</p>
<p>Every day I see students and patients<br />
who complain that they don’t have the<br />
energy to move forward.</p>
<p>They can’t sleep, their attitude is poor,<br />
their diet sucks and they can’t get focused.<br />
Yet they all claim that they want to<br />
change their lives.  But there is no<br />
consistent action to move forward.</p>

Don’t be the “hit and miss” type.</p>

lose weight but every time she<br />
