Mirroring The Master

Friday, September 25th, 2009

Yesterday, Greg emailed me back from one of my
blogs and asked, “Dr. Wu, I am curious on how
you came upon Medical Qi Gong?”

So I wrote him back…

It was back in the late seventies and I wasand stamina.
living in Detroit, Michigan.  I was training
both in Aikido and Wing Chun Kung Fu. I had
asked my Shifu how I could develop more internal
energy. A few days later, he introduced me to
Dr. Chen Wang, a great energy healer who just
arrived from China.

Dr. Chen’s specialty was moving Qi (energy) in
the body/mind and spirit. He was a Doctor of
Medical Qi Gong for over 20 years at that time.
My teacher insisted that I study with him. And
Dr. Chen kindly agreed to teach me his form of
Qi Gong to build my internal power, strength

I had a ton of questions, but Dr. Chen didn’t
speak a word of English. All of my training was
to follow him and watch his every move. So I
used a technique I had learned from one of my
Masters called mirror and matching. The technique
is to follow every movement that the teacher
does, as well as the breath, facial movements,
and even eat what they ate.

The idea is to get as many of your senses
involved as you can; seeing, hearing, smelling,
tasting and moving.  And as you get the muscle
memory congruent with all the senses, you will
be one with the teachings.

Try it! It works great!

When I had put together the Recharging Qi Gong
exercise program, I knew that if people were
really going to make a big change in their life,
they needed to train from the inside out and use
as many of their senses as possible.

The program was to build on these principles;
to allow the student to use sound, visualization,
breath, color and movement and to embody the
teachings as quickly as possible. This form of
teaching involves “Super Learning” techniques,
as well as NLP programming techniques to give
the student the maximum learning experience in
the least amount of time.

Grabbing the Qi Could be Costley

The Yin Yang garden at Long Hu Shang

The Yin Yang garden at Long Hu Shang

I don’t watch much TV, but last Sunday night
I was at a friend’s house and we were watching
the MTV Video Music Awards. There are some
really talented artists and the dancing was
incredible.

But there are unscrupulous people who will do
anything to steal someone else’s glory.

As 19-year-old Taylor Swift was accepting
an award for best female video,
Kanye West, a rap and hip-hop star rushed
the stage, grabbed the mike from the stunned
singer, and made himself look like a
complete idiot.

The audience booed, and poor Taylor Swift
looked shocked,as Kanye West was escorted
out by security.

Taylor Swift took it with grace, but you
could tell she was upset.

From a Qi perspective, I look at it this way.
In the short run, Kanye West stole the thunder
from the 19 year old. He was able to grab
the Qi and the
booing from the audience even gave him more
energy.

In martial arts this would be considered a
yang move.

These are the qualities of both yin and yang.
Yang:
• Motion
• Function
• Male
• Heaven
• Spring/Summer
• Hot/Dry
• Quick

Yin:
• Female
• Cold
• Earth
• Dark
• Small
• Weak
• Autumn/Winter

Yin and yang are opposite in nature, but they
are part of nature. They rely on each other,
and they can’t exist without each other.

The balance of yin and yang is important.
If yin is stronger, yang will be weaker,
and vice versa.

Kanye West may be in for a big surprise
when the opposite
polarity boomerangs and hits him right in
the mouth for trying to steal the energy of
the yin nature. Or it may hit him in his pocket
book meridian and that really hurts.

One of the most powerful tools we have is our
power of speech, but it is a double-edged sword.
The rap singer may be singing the blues.

Guard your speech; enrich your mind;
and train your body.

I wish you the Best in your Health Wealth
and Happiness

and mind and begin a new training cycle.

Thunder Magic

Monday, September 14th, 2009

thunder GodLast night around 3:00am, I jumped out of bed from
all the action happening outside. The sky was lit up
and my whole house was shaking from the thunder.
The energy was AWESOME!

clip_image001

When the BIG thunderstorms roll in, I am wide-awake
running the energy through my channels. This is like
taking a shower of light! It takes about 5 to 7 seconds
from the time you see the lighting until you hear the
BIG BOOM!

When I was in China at the Long Hu Shan monastery,
I studied “Thunder Magic.” It’s the Chinese version
of the Greek God Zeus.

Thunderstorms are worth their weight in gold and are
commonly used in many advanced meditation practices.

Thunder magic is believed to be one of the most effective
means of countering negative forces. During thunderstorms,
the lightning and thunder purifies and cleanses the air.
It can also put a great deal of energy in your body if you
know how to work with it.

When you learn how to cultivate the energy of the
thunderstorms, you cleanse your aura like energizing
and recharging your batteries. With proper training,
one can inhale the thunder and recharge the five yin
organs and store it in the lower Dantian.

As a member of the Qi Gong Inner Circle, you will have
access to these teachings and more. Every month you
will receive a DVD or CD delivered to your door with
exercises, meditation practices, Qi Gong secrets and
much more. www.qigonginnercircle.com

Don’t let the energy pass you by one more day or night.
Order now and be prepared to cultivate the energy for
the next thunderstorm. www.qigonginnercircle.com

Changing Your Karmic Address

Saturday, September 12th, 2009

Every year around this time, Margaret seems to invoke
some tragedy into her life. In fact the usual litany
seems to never stop – a car crash, getting punched
in the nose, losing a job and some things too bad
to even mention.   Now she even expects some
thing to disrupt her life every year a few weeks
before her birthday.  Oddly, people, in general,
do this a lot.

I have a patient that gets the flu every February
like clock work and she knows she is going to
get it for sure. She just believes its Flu Season
and takes no responsibility for it at all.
I worked with her and what came up was
that she seemed to go off of her diet around
Thanksgiving.  Consuming copious amounts
of food, the traditional American Holiday
dinner where you stuff yourself to the max.
When you’re totally full, and can’t eat another
bite, someone asks if you’re going to have a
piece of pie. Of course, you say ‘just a little one’
and then they add ‘with cream on top?’
 I never heard anyone refuse.

Does it stop there?

NO!

The Holiday Season is where people graze from
house to house; party to party; eating and
drinking all the way up to January.

It all slows down around January 15th when
they take the last bite of fruit cake and polish
off the whiskey and eggnog night-cap.

After that the time-bomb starts ticking.

Then you’ll hear the usual whiners,
“I need to lose weight, get back to the
gym and change my diet.”  Shortly after that,
comes a silent tornado.   They get the flu.
Every orifice in their bodies seems to purge
the last few months of over-eating, over-drinking

and filling their gullets with the worst food
combinations possible.

They claim that this is the season they always get sick.
Well wake up and smell the roses.
Who do you think you’re fooling?
You have been over-doing everything and this is the
body’s way of detoxing.  Me?  I prefer a much
healthier detox program.

But let’s get back to Margaret, who you think is
responsible for her seasonal Henny Penny the
sky is falling life?  She may be the one who is
pulling in the crap every year and blaming it on
the season.  It may be the fear aging or the
disappointment of not having a party, presents
or loved ones around.  It could be a multitude
of things. But who cares?  Except poor little Margaret.

The important thing is, if you really want to make a
change in your life YOU CAN! But you need to step
up to the plate and hit the F–ken ball outta’ the park.

Avoid being a “Margaret.”  Avoid being a victim.

How do you do that? How do you change your
Karmic address?
A good start is by training daily.
A strong body creates a strong mind.

But it’s not the kind of training you can get at the gym.
You need highly-specialized training and coaching.

That’s what Dr. Wu’s programs are all about- helping
you change your karmic address to a better one.

Step up to the plate and HIT the Ball the Hell
out of the park. .

Wishing you the best in Health, Wealth and Happiness!

Six Day Ritual

Friday, September 11th, 2009

Although it seemed like just yesterday, it was
about 20 years ago when I was living on a small
island in the middle of the South Pacific.
Maui.
Every Autumn, the Asian community observed
a six-day celebration the Higan-e.

For three days before and three days after the
Equinox, the Six day ritual is used to recognize
the six perfections
• Generosity
• Observance of the Precepts
• Perseverance
• Effort
• Meditation
• Wisdom

There is a saying in the Orient that,
a person needs all six before he
goes from this shore of Samsara
(The endless cycle of suffering caused
by birth death)
and re-birth to the further shore or Nirvana.
(The transcendent state free from suffering
and individual phenomenal existence),
the literal meaning is ‘other shore.’

The ritual includes repentance of past sins
and prayers for enlightenment in the next life.
The Performance of positive deeds, which are superior
to those practiced at any other time and
making offerings to ancestors. These good deeds
become a great blessing enabling us to reach
“the other shore.”

The Autumnal Equinoxes,
are the most temperate times of the year.
Ideal for reflecting on the meaning
of life.

Ancestral practices aren’t part
of Western Culture, but
when trying to shift directions
in my life and things seem impossible
to accomplish, I focus my meditation on
my ancestors and call on them for help
and guidance, to put me on the right path.

Autumn begins on September 22, 2009 @
21:34 GMT when the day and night are equal
in length.

In the Chinese system it symbolizes the element of
metal and represents the lungs,
large intestine and the skin.

Emotionally speaking, this phase is about letting
go of grief, sadness, old attachments and
emotional baggage.

On the positive side the metal element brings
in Valor, Courage and Moving Forward in ones life.

That’s exactly what I am focusing on.
I have some new and exciting products to

Why doesn’t the Chinese Clock Go Tic-Tock?

Thursday, September 10th, 2009

Everyday we experience changes in our body;
sometimes sleepy or restless and other times,
hyper and energized. These repeating patterns
of changes occur in our bodies throughout the
day and we are not even consulted on what or
when things happen to us, they just do.

The Chinese have a system that can tell you
what’s being affected; like what emotions are
the strongest at different times of the day or
night. It is all done using the meridian clock .
And not the one that goes tic-tock.

The meridian clock dates back thousands of
years to old China. Once you know how it
works you can get information that most
westerners don’t have a clue that it even exists.

Imagine if you had a system that describes
how energy peaks and drops in each organ
of your body. It would give you information
on when to exercise, when would be the best
time to sleep, eat, make love, relax. The list
of values just goes on and on.

In my practice, when I see patients and they
have symptoms of insomnia (no sleep or
disturbed sleep), I ask them the following;
‘when do you go to sleep?’, ‘when do you
wake up?’, ‘are you tired during the day time?’
and ‘what time are you waking up?” All which
have to deal with time.

When I have this information, I can then tell
what organ is being affected and how it is
affecting the body’s functions, both on a
physical and mental level.

Every two hours in every 24-hour period, the
clock changes and so does the organs that are
affected. This concept is also known as The
Law of Midday-Midnight.

As an example, the Lung meridian energy
peaks from 5 am to 7 am. Traditionally this
is when people get up to do their breathing
exercises. The stomach meridian kicks in at
7 am to 9am. This is the time to eat breakfast;
the optimal time to take nourishment.

While the Chinese Body-Clock has been
around for thousands of years, Western
medicine recently developed the concept of
Chronotherapy, using the same ideas.

Chronotherapy is the concept of taking drugs
at the time they are most needed by the body.
Both the Chinese Body-Clock and Chronotherapy
fit a 24-hour body cycle called the circadian
rhythm.

If you travel you can avoid the effects of jet
lag using the meridian clock. In the Recharging
Qi Gong, the Yin Set has exercises that focus on
specific organs. These exercises will help reset
your personal “body clock” to match the new
time zone. This will allow your body to easily
transition to the new time during your travels.

This jetlag treatment is easy to do yourself.
All you need is a Chinese Body-Clock chart,
and a copy of the Recharging Qi Gong Exercises.

Order yours today. This will quickly re-establish
a normal sleep cycle; even if you are not changing
time zones.

Turtle Style Qi Gong

Wednesday, September 9th, 2009

Training early morning has many advantages
this time of the year. One being my favorite
is witnessing the hatching of sea turtles.
What a lucky day it was when I came across a
nest of newly hatched baby turtles and were
on their way back to the sea.

I carefully picked one up, cradled it in my hand,
and felt the vibration of new life. When I put
the little feller down, he scampered off to the
sea and vanished in an instant.

Baby Sea Turtle

Baby Sea Turtle

What a buzz! You can imagine what an incredible
Qi Gong workout I had after that.
Every year the mother turtle comes back to the
same beach to lay her eggs.  Sea turtles live
long lives and grow up to weighing more than
300 pounds. This little encounter set the tone
for my entire week and more. Turtles are a sign
of longevity and wealth. And as for me, a
definite sign of prosperity!Later that day I invited a friend to lunch.
She noticed an internal glow on my face and
asked what was going on. I told her the turtle
story and showed her the pictures to go along
with it. After lunch, we walked over to a gift
shop. The owner greeted us kindly with,
“Hello, how are you doing?”

With a big smile on my face, I bellowed,
“Pretty good, thanks for asking.”

He snipped, “You’re the only one in this
economy who is doing pretty good.”

Well, he had no idea just how well I was doing.
I just came off the beach high on sea-turtle buzz!

But then I paused and looked closely at the man.
He had gray hair, poor posture, no vitality and
looked old. I then looked into his eyes;
his Shen was off-kilter. He saw life through eyes
of fear. In fact he mentioned that he was afraid
of the future.

In Chinese medicine, Fear is the negative emotion
of the kidneys. You could see by the way this man
walked; he had a sore back which is another sign
of poor kidney health.

The positive emotion of the water element where the
kidney resides is Gentleness.

I cover the emotions of the five elements in the DVD
for members of the Qi Gong Inner Circle.  If you’re
not a member, I implore you to please save your
future-self and visit www.Qigonginnercircle.com.

As a member, you will discover freedom of fear and
all the ills that ail you.

You’re Only as Strong as Your Weakest Link

Monday, September 7th, 2009

That’s a statement you can bank on.
It doesn’t matter if it’s in business, relationships
or your work-outs.
Where there is a weak link, sooner or later,
 that’s where the
breakdown will begin to happen.
When it will occur and how often it occurs,
depends on many
variables.   One of the first is STRESS.
When the stress of life starts pushing on you,
that’s when you’re
 liable to break-down.
Stress comes in different ways for everyone.

And the way medicine is practiced to deal
with stresses in our country is very
disheartening.

For example, if you have a headache,
you take an aspirin.
If you have acid indigestion,
you take a Tums.
A sore back?
A pain pill, or an anti inflammatory.
God forbid, you get cancer.
You take chemo, radiation and
maybe even surgery.

One of the things that really pisses me off,
is the shotgun or cookie-cutter approach
practiced in the US, when it comes
to health-care.
They make a pill or devise some myriad
treatment and try shoving it down
your throat.
Sure it will work for some, but our DNA
strands are all made-up molecularly unique.
Some of us will experience a sore back,
some neck and shoulder pain.
While others will experience their digestion
going haywire.

Again, it depends on where the body’s weakest
link lies.

Sure. We all inevitably break down every now
and then to build back-up, but there are ways
to keep your body, mind
and spirit in top-form.
To lengthen the time between the break-downs.

A major headliner in the news over the past
few months has been President Obama’s Health
Care Reform Program.
It reminds me of a magician’s trick, when he
has you watch his left hand, while his right
moves the object and you are awed.

BS!

I sure don’t want to be a part of that.
It’s another pill pushing program, focused on your
sickness, not on your health.

Bottom line:  if you don’t take responsibility
for your own health, you’ll be tossed into the
pool of sheep that will eventually be
slaughtered by the newest designer flu,
cancer, heart problem or a multitude of
illnesses which could have been prevented
 in the first place.

Now who do you think is responsible for all of this?

Take a second to  make a guess.

You.

You are responsible for your health.

The reasons I train, practice, eat healthily,
take vitamins, meditate and follow a healthy
lifestyle is because I weaned myself off of
the Disease Model and followed the Health Model.

You may be asking yourself,  “Tell me more!!
I don’t want to be on their program either.

What should I do?
What can I do?
Help me too!  Obi-Wan Ke-”Wu-Dhi!”

If you’re seriously ready to take control
and responsibility
for your own health, go to
 www.Qigonginnercircle.com and sign-up now
and I will personally guide you through a
program that will put you in charge of your
own health front and center.

systems of internal power.

over and over again.
•QiGong and meditation lesson delivered to your door

Remember you’re only as strong
as your weakest link.

So fortify that link.
And make it as strong as your strongest link.
Next thing you know, you’ll be on the road
to GREATNESS!
with longevity, fortitude and prosperity

When Taking Medicine

Saturday, September 5th, 2009

Stop!

Before you take any Medicine, Herb,
Homeopathic or Vitamin, you can energize it
to give you it’s maximum healing benefit.

This can increase the effectiveness of your medication
ten-fold.

How many times have you heard this?
•    My medicine is killing me.
•    I hate taking this stuff;
•    This is making me sick
•    If you don’t take your medicine you could die.

                         Well wake up!

What you are saying is akin to a negative
affirmation, or rubbing the genie lamp and asking
for a wish to be granted.
Our words are much more powerful than
ever imaginable.
What you say, visualize or think is what you
will manifest.

Be careful for what you wish.
Your body and mind will eventually be granted
it’s demand,
And, if you ask or repeat the same thing over
and over, it reinforces it like a prayer
or mantra.
Your medicine is following your instructions.
As it travels down your gullet along goes with it
the negative program that you are also
swallowing.

You can change all of that. by simply taking charge
of where and what your medicine does.

In Buddhist Doctrines, it is stated the
importance of the purification of the body,
speech, and mind is primoridial.

What we say to others, and especially what we are
saying to ourselves is the key to our health.
Some call it self-talk or programming our minds.

In the eighties, I was a personal growth trainer
and consultant for an internationally known
subliminal tape company, Midwest Research of Michigan,
producers of the “SCWL” subliminal programming tapes.
I was  always looking for techniques and products to
assist my clients and patients in making positive
changes.

Most motivational speakers and books tell us
that we create our life with our thoughts,
but the truth is,

we rarely choose our thoughts.

Most of what we call thoughts are automatic reactions
coming out of our subconscious programming.
These programs, many of which are negative,
make it difficult
for us to experience the health, happiness
and success we desire and deserve.

Once the subconscious accepts a message,
new programs are created and our conscious
mind learns new responses, thoughts and
behaviors. We literally talk
ourselves into health or sickness – mentally,
physically and emotionally.

                Visualization:

Before you put that pill or drink that medicine,
imagine what you want the medicine
to do.

How do you want it to react in your body?

Give it a specific job or assailment. (assignment?)

Where does it need to go? What do you want
it to affect?

When do you want it to start working? and for
how long?

Visualize your internal healers, angels,
spirit guides, whatever you believe will work as your internal
healer.

I usually see a pure white light surrounding me,
and the medicine, and as I ingest it,

I feel my body filling with this pure white light
moving through every pore.
Then I visualize the light engulfing every organ,
structure and muscle
of my body and finally shining
and radiating out every pore in my skin.
See the light streaming out of my body in all
directions North, South, East,
and West. Upward into the heavens and
downward deep into the core of the earth and
throughout the entire universe.
The medicine vibrating radiant health to
all parts of my body mind and spirit.

Blessing and Prayer
The most effective Blessing or Prayer will
depend on your spiritual background.
It can be as simple as
“I bless this medicine to go to the right
organ or system to heal my body, speech and mind.”
or more traditional prayers or mantras
that you know or practice, can be very effective.

Another example:  “I have great faith in the healing
power of my medicine and will bring forth the blessings of
The Heavenly Father or Mother,  Beloved God,
Saints and Sages of all religions, and this
will heal and protect the Body,
Mind and Spirit.”

Think of the prayer transforming and absorbing
into the medicine. Generate strong faith that
the medicine
has all the blessings of the healer’s saints
and sages.

Also, visualize that the essence of the
five elements fire, earth, metal, water and wood
all absorb into the medicine. The medicine becomes
so powerful that it can heal anything it meets.
It instantly heals all diseases
of the mind and body.
“Unless you change how you are, you will
always have what you’ve got.”

Magic Square of Health

Wednesday, September 2nd, 2009

My phone rang this morning at 6:30am. It was my
new patient Edith who was totally flipped out,
totally out of sync and wanted to know how soon
I could see her. I told her I wouldn’t be in my
office till 9am so I’ll meet her then.

When I got to the office, she was already in
the waiting room with tears in her eyes, hunched
over and she looked like she hadn’t slept in two
days. I brought her into the exam room and started
asking her the usual questions. How is her energy,
sleep, appetite and mood?

She then broke down and told me that her life
wasn’t working out as planned. I told her not to
focus on the negative parts of her life, but
instead on the positive. I then switched up my
questions by using the Magic Square; the 9 Step
method of Feng Shui Healing.

1. What’s going on in her career? She said she’s a
hard worker and she actually just got a promotion.

2. Dual cultivation; how are your relationships?
She answered that her relationship was skyrocketing
and she gave me more details than I needed to mention.

3. Family and children? She said that her family
life is also good. Her relationship with her mother
couldn’t be any better and her daughter and her
are best friends.

4. Then came the critical question for many; how
is your money? She stated even with this economy,
that her money is good too. In fact, it’s better
than ever.

5. How is your spiritual practice? She practices
religiously with meditations and worship. She even
contributes and volunteers her time to help others.
She considers herself to be very open minded and
she respect’s other people’s beliefs.

6. How about traveling and meeting new people?
She quickly admitted she enjoys traveling and that
she takes trips to Europe, Asia and does so very
often because she has tons of friends from all
over the world. (Well it helps that she’s a travel
agent!)

7. Any projects? She is currently remodeling her
house and that’s going great as well.

8. How about self-cultivation; exercise, education
and things that nurture you? And there it was…
I found the problem. She realized she hasn’t been
taking care of herself. Like many of us, we take
care of everyone else and forget ourselves.

Edith hasn’t exercised in 6 weeks and has a kitchen
cupboard full of vitamins that she doesn’t take.
She has basically cut herself out of the healing
picture. And that is a huge problem.

The Magic Square is out of balance, therefore the
entire health picture goes out of balance.

Chinese Magic Square

9. The final question; how about her success?
And the answer was NONE. And that’s because
there’s an imbalance in her Internal Feng Shui.

If you have 8 things in your life that are totally
balanced and harmonious, but there’s one thing
that’s out of place, it throws off the entire picture.

I worked on Edith for over an hour; balanced her
meridians and opened up her energy flow. Together,
we resolved her issues. I gave her specific
set of prescriptive exercises to do every day that
will restore her energy, as well as correct the
blockages of her internal Feng Shui.

All of us have imbalances in our lives here and
there. We don’t get a manual that balances these
bumps on the road of life. In the Qi Gong Inner
