Are You Accumulating Karma Or Freeing Yourself Of It?

Are You Accumulating Karma Or Freeing Yourself Of It?

Every day, we do things to clear up our karma by
contributing to others, making our planet a better
place to live in, showing respect for others,
expressing gratitude, being honest, and giving and
receiving love. When we cheat, steal, lie, or
hate, we end up accumulating karma. Eventually, we
have to pay for it in this lifetime or the next.
Karma is often thought of as a give-and-take
punishment, with the same connotation as “an eye
for an eye.” Many people use the word “karma” to
describe negative forces that they are powerless
over. They don’t take responsibility for their
actions to the fact, or they are just ignorant to
the fact that your actions will eventually bite
you where the sun doesn’t shine. The actions we do
make up who we are and determine if we are
cultivating good karma or accumulating negative
karma. Doing things that benefit you but hurts
others creates bad karma.

If you look at life as a series of lessons that
are presented to you, there is no good or bad
karma, just lessons to be learned. It is a
learning experience. If we get it the first time,
we don’t have to repeat it. If you fail to get the
lesson, you’ll keep repeating it until you do.
That’s karma!

The word “karma” comes from the Sanskrit language
which means “Action.” It is the result of a
person’s actions. According to the theory of
Karma, what happens to a person happens because
they caused it with their actions. Actions become
the cause that will eventually be followed by the
effect. We have to live with the consequences of
our actions. Karma is the way the universe teaches
us the lessons we need to learn.

I was at a retreat last year with Lama Khemsar
Rinpoche of the Tibetan Bön tradition. He was
talking about confession and how it can resolve
you of your karma. He said that The Catholic uses
confessing to absolve sins and, that’s good, but
they missed the important part. After you confess,
you should never do the action again and, then you
are free of the karma. We always have the free
will to change the karmic path we are on. When you
face your karma, you can change the path you are
on. If you pay attention to the recurrent themes
in your life, you can start to see where you are
stuck and hopefully rid yourself of these karmic
patterns.

I have been practicing Qi gong for many years and
teaching hundreds of people the form that can
speed up your karma and keep you healthy in body,
mind and spirit. It’s called the Recharging Qi
Gong program
